Is this like a wet to dry flat iron? Either way, which flat iron is better, the regular chi or this new nano one? Has anyone used the new nano one?

I agree with the girl above. You should never straighten your hair wet. On the contrary you shouldn't blow dry it either. I blow dried for years and didn't realize how bad it was. My hair is way more manageable and softer when I air/fluff dry it.

Is that chi nano iron one of those pricey ones. If so, I believe most ceramic irons are created equal. There are alot of cheapos out there but most will do the same thing...straighten and damage. Whatever you choose make sure you use some type of cream or spray hair protectant.

You shouldn't flat iron your hair when it's wet. For best results without damaging your hair, let it air dry and then flat iron it. Of course, if it's in the winter time you really have no choice but to blow dry it first. I have the original 1" CHI and it works good. Although, it works like 10 times better when it's colder outside and there's less humidity. I wouldn't really say the CHI is humidity/curling resistent in the summer time whatsoever. At least, if you have thick, curly, and sometimes frizzy hair. Also, the red light would turn on and off depending on how you held the iron. I've had mine for a little over a year and it doesn't heat up like how it used to.

I haven't heard about the CHI NANO actually. But, I wouldn't think it would turn out to be much better than the original.

I recently ordered the Sedu flat iron from folica.com and it should be coming soon. I read reviews that it's supposed to be way better than the CHI and leave your hair smoother and healthier all together (It's a ceramic/tourmaline flat iron and the biggest size is 1 1/2").

I actually have two Jilbere flat irons and they work great. I've never had a Chi so I don't really know, but if you don't want to spend TOO much money, Jilbere is a great grea brand. I've had mine for about 4 years (ever since I was in high school) and still works fine :)

even though some straighteners claim you can flat iron your hair when its wet and it will turn out dry, you should never EVER do that. that sizzling sound means your hair is literally frying. its soooo bad for your hair. take the time to blowdry it first!!!
