I was shaving my armpits last week when I noticed a black spot. The black spot has been there for years and I've ignored it. As I was shaving a white ooze came out of the black spot them I pulled out a hairball the size of the spot. It was covered in some oily stuff that smelled like sweat. It left a hole in my armpit.
Now that it has healed it left a deep groove in my armpit.
Does anyone have an explaination what that was?

Ingrown hairs cause pain because they continue to grow. Most people get itchy red bumps and eventually, they grow through. Most people tend to pop them to relieve the itching or mild pain that comes with them. You had a hair that continued to grow underneath your skin. It may not have caused any pain or discomfort, but while you were shaving you broke the skin above it, and caused it to dislodge.
You're fine, but because it grew and caused a small hole, that hole may always be there, or it may heal, scab and you may have a small scar.

An ingrown hair, the stuff smelled and because it has been trapped in side. It may have been slightly infected. Should be fine now that its healed. Keep an eye on it and if you start seeing in change ask a doctor.
