There are a number of ways to get rid of a wart. liquids tha have higher cocentrations of A.S.A. (acetylsalicylic acid), which requires regular, repeated application. Any drugstore has them. Liquid nitrogen will freeze it off. A dermatologist has it. or cans of compressed carbon dioxide which causes freezing when sprayed for a few seconds. (Gases going from liquid to vapor take a lot of heat away and can freeze the skin surface). A dermatologist can use electricity to burn it off. It's called electrocautery.
Or, (if it's not in a place that shows, leave it alone). the body eventually recognizes that the wart is foreign and destroys it,. This spontaneous removal takes about 2 years to happen.
Many warts are caused by human papiloma virus.

The two most popular "over the counter" methods are
by salicylic acid and freezing...
I burned a small wart off my hand with a magnifying glass
when I was a kid....Put an ice cube on it and then burned , then
more ice and then burn...not as bad as it sounds but I would just
go to the drugstore now...

duct tape, cut out a small piece and put it on the wart. Leave it on all the time and it will go away in about a week. it worked for me even though the commercial wart remover didn't.
