God may be powerful, but he cannot help the Christians on here with their spelling.

You may benefit from believing in God, however if having a belief in such a thing helps, you will also find that beleiving in the tooth fairy or benign aliens would help. you would be putting yourself in a very strong state of denial, which would eventually collapse painfully and violently.

A healthier approach would be to discover what is driving your depression. Face and treat and solve that, and you will have lasting success in dealing with your depression. Turning to God would be a sticking plaster approach, not a holistic cure.

Solve the cause of your depression, and then you can turn to God if you wish.

If you need any assistance with this email me and I will be delighted to help.

I guarentee one thing though, the cause of your depression is not what you think it may be.

There is everything to be gained by giving your life over to God and totally trusting that his perfect love and perfect care for you will bring you through. It may not stop you feeling depressed, but if you continue to pray to Him about it, he will lead you on the necessary journey of self discovery which will ultimately help you beat your depression.

There is nothing better than knowing He is always there, to love you, to show you the way, to carry you when you cannot walk any more, to guide you and show you the best path for you, whether you take it or now. Let him in, you won't regret it.

Don't do it just because you are depressed...(if that is the case). If you are going to let your life be in God, you have to be on a personal level. If you think something is missing in your heart but you don't know what it is...it's God.
So yes, go ahead. Invite him in =)

No. When I feel depressed I try and strip a Christian of his beliefs. Even if I'm not successful I get to walk away angry instead of depressed. (Ignorance make the warrior hamster mad).

Do not give in to ignorance, be strong and denounce the false gods!

Or if you have to believe in something, make it more interesting like Druidism or be a wiccan.

There's nothing wrong with your not believing in God. If He ain't a-knocking, why should you answer the door. Pascal said that you may as well believe in Him because if He doesn't exist you've lost nothing, and if He does you'll be rewarded in Heaven. What he failed to consider was the question of which God to choose; pick the wrong one and I wouldn't like to be you in the afterlife.

I have to agree. If you are depressed then the solution comes from yourself. God might help and give you a direction but only YOU can get yourself out of your depression. It will take time. But you will. Bonne Chancé mon ami.

Why?
If you are weak, insecure, frightened or just like following the sheep then go for it.
If you are capable of rational sensible thoughts and decisions, make your own mind up.

your are depressed and that means you are vulnerable to people who wish to convert you to a religious organisation, the best thing you can do is to contact a GP whom in turn will get you in contact with a psychiatrist, or chat with people online and also contact self help groups,
God will not make your depression go away only you have the power to over come it, the only thing you have to believe in at the moment is yourself then your life will begin to change
good luck!
