You could make a chocolate sugar cookie? Or regulat sugar cookies with chocolate icing!

1 cup butter
2 cups white sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt

Cream butter & sugar add eggs and beat well, mix in the baking soda, flour and salt. Refrigerate for 10 minutes, roll into balls, dip in sugar and press with the bottom of a glass, or roll out dough and make cutouts.

For Chocolate sugar cookies, melt a cup of chocolate chips and cream that with the butter and sugar.

There are other extracts that can sometimes be substituted for vanilla — almond extract is one choice. Rum extract is sometimes used. Chocolate extract is an option.

Brown Sugar Substitute

1 cup artificial sweetener*
1/4 cup sugar-free maple syrup

Mix ingredients well.

Replaces 1 cup of regular brown sugar to be used when baking.

*Use the type of sweetener that measures 1 cup to 1 cup of granulated sugar.

just don't use vanilla
use 3/4 lbs butter
1 cup sugar
3 egg yolks (one at a time)
beat until creamy
then add 2 cups flour or add ground almonds for aded flavor and texture.add chocolate chips and what ever you want to add
roll into a ball and let cool in refrigerator for an hour
pinch off pieces and put in preheated oven at 350F
until golden brown or depending on if you want chewy or longer for crunchy.
enjoy
