My 11 yr old daughter has a very dry scalp. She always has. I put hair grease on it. I use oil. I use dry, itchy scalp shampoos and conditioners. The problem with those is that they tend to make her hair dry and brittle. We are black and she has long, black hair that goes about half way her back. She has a perm, too. This not just dandruff. We need help!! She is a pre-teen now and has started middle school. I don't want her to be teased. Help!! Ethnic hair products!

Try using Motion products, I have a dry scalp too and Motions works really good for me. Also deep condition her hair once a week with a good protein conditioner, put a plastic cap on her and sit her under a dryer for 30-60 minutes and if you don't have an hair dryer, wrap a towel around her head for 2 hours. Hopefully this helps! Good Luck!

I am black and I had a dry scalp and dry hair as well. I talked to my stylist and she told me to begin using Cream of Nature Shampoo and Conditioner. It works wonders. They have an anti dandruff shampoo that doesnt smell like medicine and a moisturizing conditioner that detangles as well.

I also use the "Cantu" line of scalp and hair moisturizers. It is made specificially for african american hair. The products are made with shea butter and since I begun using it I saw an immediate difference in the way my hair felt and looked. It became natrually shiny and did not break off as much.

They have a "no drip" scalp oil, an oil moisturizer, and a leave in cream conditioner.... I love this stuff and will swear buy it!! You can find it in any beauty store and now some walmarts even carry it.

And the best part is... IT SMELLS great. Im sure your daughter will love it.

My doughter has curly hair and very thich so her scalp gets dry all the time I have tryed a lot of things and nothing seemed to work. Till my friend mentchend to use PINK OIL you can get it a any Dollor General store for like under $3. I know that it is for the black population (NO Raceism) it just is but it does work just work it in to the scalp once or twice a week after a bath when hair is wet be sure not to use to much it will make the hair look a little greasy but it will not be dry scalp and her hair will be soft. Hope this works for you. you might think that is is crazy but it works.

Grease makes the scalp dryer. Try Scalpasin (sp?) Also, if you're talking about dandruff, you can use original Listerine as a final rinse. I've seen that work on some very extreme cases. Put the oils on the hair, not the scalp--the scalp needs to breathe.

Head and Shoulders works really well. I am 13 and I used to have a pretty dry scalp.I used Head and Shoulders and it totally worked. I usually stick to the original kind because some of the others burn my scalp. MAKE SURE IT DOES NOT GET IN CONTACT WITH EYES! It really really burns. It also makes your hair very shiny and healthy looking. I hope this helps!☺

My boyfriend has extremely extremely dry scalp. He makes use of a more suitable dandruff shampoo. Head and Shoulders is high-quality notwithstanding it would not artwork for him. He makes use of Denorex more effective ability. This extremely retains the flakes from getting out of control.

My scalp is naturally dry also. I use SoftSheen-Carson Optimum Oil Therapy. It contain only four main ingredients coconut, olive, avocado, and jojoba. You can bye it at walmart for about 3-5 dollars depending on size and comes in a yellow jar. It also has no greasy build-up.

Don't use Pink Lotion, eventhough it does a good job at not leaving the scalp greasy, it leaves the ends split and very dry!

Sulfur 8 or try natural oil like "coconut oil" heat it up, and apply to scalp.

If she has a serious conditon, maybe medically and they have some great over the counter products that a doctor can prescribe to curb problem.

Massage her scalp from front to back, everyday. This will stimulate the natural oil production. Drink plenty of water, and take vitamin E.
