I believe that people wrote what is in the bible, but I don't see why such importance is placed on it. People treat the bible as if it was written by god, but most of it (the NT anyway) was written by the same 4 or 5 people (disciples of Jesus).

Actually it's the new testament that was written after Jesus died on the cross. The books of the Old Testament were written (some) thousands of years prior to that.
There is one reason that I have come to my belief that I can trust the bible as truly God's word. It's from studying it for about ten years. I came to a very good bible teaching church and began listening. The pastor taught from the bible every single week. They start at Genesis and go all the way through to Revelation...it takes almost ten years. Then I thought, I'm going to study this. I got into a bible study, and each year we took one book of the new testament and studied it, with lessons, every single week. Each bible study lasted eight months. After several years in this study, I began to realize the things in the bible were true. I also noticed that my life began to blossom.
Not everyone has the good fortune to find a church that is so diligent and true to the bible. But I think alot of people don't put time, thought or effort into really reading it. If they did...they would find treasure, just like I found.

It is always nice to meet people that knows when the Bible was written. You must have been there. Just because you don't believe the Bible does not make it untrue. I would say the part that you dislike the moat is the part about judgment. Revelation 20: 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. Revelation 20: 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. Revelation 20: 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Read Daniel 11. All of these things were written hundred of years before they occured and if you look at history you will see the proof. When you get to verse 36 on you will see the future. Things have been scientifically, archeologically and historically proven from the Bible to be true.
I believe the Word of God is true.
The Old Testament of the Bible was written before his birth and he fulfilled the prophecies concerning this.
Your disbelief in the Bible isn't your biggest problem. All creation testifies of God. This means that when you look at creation and your own human body to the very core of it there is proof that someone greater than ourselves created us. Because of this you will not be without excuse when You stand before his son. You will have to answer for why you didn't believe and you will have no excuse because of your seeing all of creation.

I believe in it. I just don't believe that Christ is God, because God can't die. And if Christ didn't die, then we wouldn't be saved. God wouldn't exist anymore if he died. ... Christ didn't write the bible.
