DO WE TAKE EVERYTHING FOR GRANTED? All these things we can go and buy were in the ground. Almost without exception everything comes out of the ground. Dont you think this statement is the the most astounding thing you have heard on here?

Not particularly. When you think about it, it makes perfect sense. The earth is our source of life so we have to take everything we need from it. And since nothing hovers in the air and spontaneously forms, all those things would have to come out of the ground.

But then again, being a geologist, I'm biased.

It is true!! My dad always says that and everyone knows dads know everything!!

I can't think of anything that this statement doesn't include. Apart from moon rocks.

Largely true, but not astounding. Kinda makes you feel hollow underfoot, doesn't it?
