If you are so tall, your weight should be 150-165 pounds. Try counting calories and exercising by doing things that you like, such as walking, roller skating or bike riding. Try not to spend so much time indoors or watching TV, because that is when we think of food the most. Try to avoid fast food and junk food. I understand that you are young. Eat candy, but count calories (250 or less per day). Do not eat too many sweets, try healthy snacks. If you must have fast food, only once per month! I hope this helped. If not, ask your parents about taking you to a nutritionist for more help.

There is no set perfect weight, everyone's body shape is different. Now, without seeing you - I can tell you that 256 is too large for your height and age. You are in danger of Early Onset Diabetes, Heart Disease later in life, etc. And I am just guessing, but you probably don't lead a very active life. I imagine you are not in any sports, go straight home and sit in front of the TV/computer, don't participate in active play during lunch hour.
Do not worry - it is never to late to change.
First thing, turn off the TV. At your age, you should not be watching more than 1 hour a day (and that includes computer time, and playing video games).
Second thing - go outside. It don't matter if you are just walking around the block, or kicking a soccer ball with yourself - it is a start. Have patience, and be consistent, and you will see results.
Three - start reading books about fitness, and diet. One book I would recommend is Body For Life. It has great tips for beginners about diet and exercise.
Last thing - take the rude comments for what they are, your classmates ackward and ill-informed attempts at encouragement. They know you are putting yourself in harms way, and they don't like to see it. You won't get even that if you allow yourself to continue on this path as an adult.
Good luck, the time to change is now, today. So turn off this computer and get started.

Stop putting your self image in the hands of others. Until YOU realize you have a problem and YOU want to make a difference, nothing will help.
You need to control your eating habits, gain a new excersize regimine and stick with it. Find a person with similar goals and work together to help eachother achieve them.
Wake up. Your weight and size are a road map for disaster! You don't have to live on celery sticks, you only need to eat the right foods in the right amounts. Anyone can do it.
And before you think I"m one of those skinny people who don't know a thing about it, I am over weight and walk a mile every day. In a year I lost 45 lbs - nearly 25% of my body weight. Good eating, excersize and a determination are the only things you need. It took me nearly 50 years to get to this point. DON'T wait so long! Do it now!

About 150 - 175. It takes a lot of will power and habit changing. Start with a pedometer and count your steps. Keep a log every day for a week. You would be surprised (I was) at how little you walk around. I started on a 10,000 steps a day program at work with co-workers. It is hard to reach 10,000, but if you keep working at it, you gradually make progress. Treadmills are good, you can read, watch tv or listen to music while walking and work your way up to running. Remember, it doesn't happen overnight and be happy with the efforts you make. And don't envy any of those stick models!!!
I started out at less than 2500 a day!! I am 158 at 5' 3" and still trying to get to at least 140. Just set aside 15 minutes to start. You could even get an e-buddy to report on your progress, etc.
GOOD LUCK!!!!

You are not a failure sweetie I know its difficult my 14 yr old daughter is overweight too and its hard when you are a young girl. Dont give up just eat in moderation eat fresh fruits and vegetables instead of chips and cakes and such I know its hard but you can do it and its best to start right now while you are young it gets harder as you get older Exercise is the key to loosin weight without it its alot harder Get out and go for a walk every evening after your last meal take stairs instead of elevators simple little things like that really add up and will help you get some physical activity and will help burn calories.

one...ppl are cruel and dont let them get to you!
two...try cutting out fast food and junk food, dont take away the things you like to eat most, like if you like to drink mountain dew drink it, just not to much. eat healthy things and drink alot of water it really does help you loose weight.
three...try working out not to heavly at first, try taking a walk with your mom or dad or sibilings, or even a best friend, then slowly increase it to walking maybe an hour a day or jogging an hour a day and slowly increase it.but do it at your speed no one elses.
four....never go by what ppl say you should weigh, look in the mirror think of a size youd like to go down to and work towards that goal, weight means nothing really, besides its more important to be healthy and have muscle tone.
my sister was overweight for a long time she weighed 230 at one point and she was only 5'4, now shes 21 almost 22 shes 5'6 and she weighs 140 over her bmi but she doesnt care because she feels good about herself and likes the way she looks, ive always been tall n skinny and i wish i had the self esteem as her, shes confident and that makes her great and that all you need to do is hold your head up high and remember everyone has insecurities dont let them get to you, im sure you have plenty of ppl around you who love you just as you are and will offer thier love and support anyway they can
good luck

You should be at a weight that you feel comfortable. Doctor's can say how much you should weigh but they don’t take into consideration of genetics and your body frame. I have always been "above average" for my age in height and weight. My family are big people starting from 5'10 and up and 250lbs and up. I am a tall girl and they say I should weigh 156 lbs. If I did, I would look skinny and sick. However I am also on a path to loosing weight and I am finding it hard to do. I want to loose weight to feel good about myself and to fit into my clothes I got stuffed in my closet. I am not going to be loosing to be nowhere near 156. I lost alot of weight doing Atkins but it's really not good for you they say. I would say drinks lots of water. Set goals for yourself. For me I am trying to eat no more than 800 calories a day. I walk at least one mile a day or at least 4 days out the week. I have a busy life. You dont have to go to the gym and lift weights and sweat bullets like you see on TV and on those Bowflex commercials. Eat watermelon as well. It's very good. Stay away from fried foods. Eat fish and greens. You can be big but healthy as well. Along with loosing weight you need to gain self esteem because no matter how much you loose you will always look ugly in the mirror. Have confidence in yourself to know that you are beautiful no matter how much you weigh. When I was 13 I felt the same way as you, only I was 6' feet tall. (yeah 6 feet tall) I got teased alot and on top of that I was heavy. I lost some of the weight as I grew up but I noticed most of my weight went to my boobs. I'm trying to get rid of them also. That's another topic in itself. I lost the weight later in my teen years and actually had a couple of modeling opportunities. Then I gained the weight back LOL. Just set goals for yourself. There are many weight loss support groups out there but if you just stick with the basics, lots of water, no fried foods, eat fruits and veggies only, then you will have no problem. I think your biggest problem would be the discipline and motivation to stay on your diet. All the best.
