I'm a singer, and I get stage fright as well. First off, be confident about what you have to do in the audition. That's practicing whatever the audition requires until you hate it. Some try to practice in front of friends and family - It doesn't work for me, but all personality types are different. When you're there, just remember a few things...
-What's the worst that could happen? You don't get the Audition? Big deal. You will never see those people again. Keep doing what you love until another oportunity comes up.
-You have to think, surely you are not the worst person to ever try out. I'm sure that they've seen some truly bad auditions.
-You start shaking and feel like you might be sick - CALM DOWN. Try taking deep breathes. Remember that you practiced and practiced. You know you can do this, now you just have to prove it to the judges.
-No one likes a smug overconfident jerk who thinks they are perfect. But you can still believe in yourself and have plenty of confidence without turning into "That Guy." Anyone recall the little engine that could...??
-Remember, the judges are rooting for you. They want to see you succeed.
I hope some of that helps you. Good luck!! I'm sure you'll be fine.

What you go through when you about to perform is completely normal. Being a performer can be so exposing and you feel like every single move you make is being noticed and assessed. However this can become more comfortable as you perform more. this really helps as the other guy wrote. Also, maybe if you think too about the reason you are performing. Are you performing a really cool piece you enjoy? then project that to the audience. Or are you performing for a function? then realise that you are there to make the atmostphere more enjoyable for those there and try you best with that. Try figure this out, and convince yourself this is the most important thing to you. but i think most importantly, just realise that a "perfect" performance, is firstly totally subjective to an audience, and secondly in your eyes, ususally not possible. :P so don't beat yourself up at any point in the performance! Just go with the flow, and accept that you might make a mistake but the performance is more than just about small mistakes it's about performng! all the best!

When I was performing by myself when I first started out I was like a nervous wreck. I always feel that if you aren't just a little bit nervous then it is time to get out of whatever you are doing. After 10 years I still get butterflies. Just try to remember what you are going for, get a glass of water and have a few sips before you audition, and then take a deep breath and go. When I'm performing, I try to forget where I am and just feel what I am doing. I get very involved with my music. I really try to experience what I am singing about.

There is nothing wrong with feeling nervous. It is normal and natural reaction under the circumstances that you described. Try to make it a positive by allowing it to motivate you to work hard at your preparation. The reality is that a few more ours to prepare would not likely make any difference. Work hard at preparation and accept the results that get with grace. If you were not nervous about this audition I would assume it is because you don't care.

The best way to get over that fear is to audition a lot. But I see that you have no chance of doing multiple auditions.
So, you should play in front of your parents, friends, siblings. The more exposure you get to "being listened to" by others. The easier it will become.
I bet you'll do fine. Also if you just ignore the teacher or whoever is there and get into the zone, you'll be fine.
Good Luck!

talk to yourself about it and others who have done auditions.. also eat a good diet things that'll calm the ticker down so you don't get those palipatations...
inhale, do some mild meditation, you know that through the stomach inhalation.
shake yourself around... do a little jumping about... get yourself all loosened up.
you're over exicited that's normal.. i really wouldn't worry about the situation or the fact you're nervous, that's normal.. hell i poop bricks still when i got to do things...
water too helps... have a glass.. take a trip to the bathroom, (urinate) the day it happens... well don't think about it just do it.
i'm normally all worked up until that very moment what is to happen happens... then i'm all about what i got to do then before i know it, i'm done.. i passed... now i can FAINT!
but you'll be fine.. just ride a bike, practise... relax... read a book when you aren't practising.. oh watch tv or a favorite movie, talk to your friends (who are understanding and won't call you dumb) because it's not dumb it's normal!
and it's not stupid either...
but remember relax, you're there because you're already good.. they just need to see how good you are.
good luck!
:D

I know exactly how you feel.
The best solution is to play in front of loads of people - after 100 times you should be comfortable. In 5 days that's probably not possible.
The best thing I found was to take that nervous 'energy' and control it - focus it in to you performance. You wouldn't believe how much adrenalin is pumping through your system.. trick is to capture it and use it.
Getting nervous sucks, my last suggestion would be to close your eyes for a bit and listen to the music... you focus on the music and nothing else will matter.

Do not be self conscious. The music you play must flow freely, totally forgetting the presence of the other musicians, conductor/s and judges.
The moment you are conscious of yourself and your surroundings, the more are the chances of faltering. Look at how the other great pianists and violinists perform? It should be only MUSIC in your mind - not even yourself!

In first practice in front of mirror and then in front of your friends and family. when you feel comfortable you will be ready for auditions.
