I mean, you agree that eveyone has a time to go when the Lord calls them, so what if suicide was their way out? Instead of dying in a car crash, allergic reaction, etc., what if it was suicide instead? Why is suicide conisdered sin?

Chris Horn::
Eternal life in heaven. Not on Earth. Have you ever heard of anyone haveing an eternal life after having died from natural causes? You haven't? Oh neither have I. What if someone kills themselfs who is faithful.
But whatever I accept your answer.

God's all about ,Life,Love, and Eternal Life !!! How can one, have Eternal Life, hereafter, should he kill his life now? That is the question!! Thats why its not God's will for our lives!! Have you ever heard of a person, having "Life Eternally" when they kill theirselves? Nope, neither have I.......But, when you live your life for God, He sees to it, we have "Life Everlasting" that means we get to go too Heaven!!!! The rest is History!!!

Catholics believe suicide when committed in full knowledge and deliberate consent is a complete turning away from God (a mortal sin) and will send a person to hell.

There are 3 conditions of a mortal sin: grave matter, full knowledge, and deliberate consent.

While suicide (or any kind of murder) is always a grave matter, people who commit suicide may not always have full knowledge of what they're doing. Drugs can definitely impair one's thinking, as can other things, such as diseases, intense pain, or anguish.

Therefore, suicide is not automatically treated as a mortal sin.

We are commanded by Christ not to judge others so we leave final judgment to God who alone knows each person's heart.

With love in Christ.

You'll probably get a lot of answers about that being murder, and murder is wrong. That doesn't quite work as an argument I don't think, because murdering someone takes away something from them they want to keep: their life. Suicide presumably does not have this issue.

I think the following is more likely the most reasonable quote to talk against it:

"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body."

Committing suicide is a sin because it's selfish, and going against the will of God. Selfishness is a sin. And if you are going against the will of God, then you are sinning. Suicide is a sin that is once committed, then you cannot be forgiven. Because you are already dead.

Why'd you ask? Are you planning that escape route out of life. Try Jesus. He provides peace in this rude, sinful, and crazy world and etc. Don't give up in life. Pray and ask Jesus into your life before making that move. Suicide: It's no turning back once you've done it.

Suicide is taking your life, a life that you had no part in making and you have no right to take it. That is God's right as He gave it and He is the only one that has the right to take it. It is murder if you take your own life. Will the person that does it go to Hell? Probably, but the only one that knows for sure is God. I believe there may be times that the person is not in their right mind or they would not do it and in those cases, I do believe God takes that into account. But for the one that says I am sick so I am going to kill myself to get out of the pain and does it with no consideration of the fact he has no right, then that is murder and as such cannot be forgiven as a dead man cannot repent.

Because suicide is a person saying basically "I am God of my own life. I decide when I live and when I die." God created them and for them to take their own life is not only murder but destroying the thing that God has created for a purpose.

It could be considered self-murder, which would be a sin. The real question should be "Could someone who was genuinly a Christian believer kill himself, and if so would this sin still be covered under the forgivness of Christ's blood?" The answer to that question is widely debated. I prefer to think that if a true Christian did kill themself, they would still be forgiven and God would still welcome them into heaven. Other believers though would tend to disagree.

God gave us life to live. We all have our time, this is true. But God does the killing, not us. To commit suicide is to refuse God's gift of life. We are telling Him that it is worthless and meaningless to us. In effect, we are playing God by taking our own life.

actually, suicide is a sin (thou shall not murder), but you aren't going to hell for it, you might suffer a loss of rewards though. if you believe in Jesus and his sacrifice on the cross for ALL sins, past, present and future.. then you are redeemed. nothing will be able to take that away. the Bible says that "no man (even yourself) can NOT take away your salvation.
as for having a number of days appointed unto you, you are right.. God knows our death date as well as our birth date. you can however shorten your days.. the Bible gives plenty of illustrations of that happening. "honor thou father and mother, so that your days may be longer upon the earth" and he will take you out of this world for various reasons for your own souls sake. God can see further than we can and he knows what you are going to do before you even do it.. either way, he still knows how long your life is going to be before you were even born.

Because, have you ever heard of a person who commits suicide, that was "Happy" when they did it, or not "Scared" or not full of anger, or pain? God, doesn't have suicide, in mind for our ending........Especially, when we were made in Gods image, its not God at all to destine us, to end what he created........Its satan's plan, not Gods.......And its also Satan, who's got you all confused, about this way of dieing........Because, you see, he's the "Master of Deception" and he's quite "Good" at it, too, if he's got you convinced, that suicide,is God's idea, of a way for us, to go....We are basically playing God, if one, kills themselves......Because, God has other plans for our ending.... And if one, makes they Ultimate Decision to end his own life, his own way, than that is his own, way of playing God, since God has destined, our today, yesterday, and our future!! Not, us!! Our lives, we're "Predestined" the bible says.........So, if we aren't living for God, and we are listening to satan, to end our own, lives, and allowing satan, to make us think its okay, to kill ourselves......Then we are also destined to go to "Hell" for it !! Because, that wasn't in Gods will for our lives, or in His plan, for our destiny!!!

It is a sin, but is forgivable through the Blood, if the person has accepted Christ.

As my pastor says, "There is only one unforgivable sin, and suicide ain't it."

Besides, most suicides are victims of depression, and God doesn't punish mental illness.
