No, it's not OK. Xanax is part of a medication class call benzodiazepines. They are supposed to help mainly with anxiety and they produce Central Nervous System depression. Alcohol does the same thing. They are NOT supposed to be mized at all. Those symptoms you were talking about are some of the adverse effects of Xanax. Both of them also affect the liver function, and when the liver doesn't fucntion well anymore, the levels of both Xanax and alcohol increase in the system and the adverse effects will become more and more serious. I hope this help. Good luck

I'm not sure what xanax is for, but I can't imagine it being safe to drink alcohol with any medication. I also can't imagine a pharmacist saying it is okay to drink while takings meds. That being said too, I'm sure they meant once in awhile would be okay, not a six pack every day. I'm surprised she doesn't have liver problems. She should go get checked by a doctor, and seeing as you are worried, you should go with her to make sure she goes.

Do not drink any alcoholic beverage two hours before or after taking the meds. Thats the safe way to go and have little chance of enhacement.

hi,
well she should never take xanax with alcohol !! it can be very dangerous over a long period of time, it may affect the brain or may cause other problems... tell your friend to stop or ask a psychiatrist for more information !!!
