In the bible, it states that those who follow Jesus should be LIKE him. I find a general attitude towards Christians because non-beleivers find Christians to be judgemental, aggressive, rude, which are all signs of being human and possibly even more satan-like rather than Jesus-like. Why are believers of God not following HIS word??? It makes beleivers non-Godly, thus making others sin on account of believers. Note-if you ARE a believer, follow the word, not your pastors.

To CINDYC: No one is judging. It's a speculation, and if you read carefuly, you will see that at no point I have pointed the finger at a general population except to say a portion of everyone.

We forget that God has a terrible enemy and one of that enemies tactics is to set up spiritual agents that pretend to be for God, but act like hell. This is one reason that the Jesus tell us,

"For there is no good tree which produces bad fruit, nor, on the other hand, a bad tree which produces good fruit.)For each tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they pick grapes from a briar bush. The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; (D)for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart. " (Luke 6:43-45 (New American Standard Bible))

The "fruit" is the effect that you see a person having on the lives of others.

The Apostle John writes, "And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us." (1 John 3:23-24 (New International Version))

It is becoming obvious, yes?

Over the years there have been many teachings gone out in the name of Jesus that were far from His doctrine. If you read the Gospels and see what He taught, and then go into the teachings after pentecost, you will see how we are to live and think even today. what we are trying to acheive is a mindset that was the original. When God made man He intended that they would all operate in the mind Christ. It is best to listen to no man that is not under the anointing and then use discernment to know what is hot off the press and what ins't. In other words only listen to God, through His Holy Spirit, His Written Word and His Spoken Word. If you preacher is spending a lot of sermon time on his own idealisms, hit the road immediatly. don't go down with the ship. It is better to fellowship with a few true believers then a million of believers that are mesmerized by some charismatic preacher. An assembly is two or more. If I put one screw in one bolt that is an assembly. Many church today are big business and feel that the numbers make a better game. The word of God says do not refrain from assembling yourselves together, and Jesus sent the disciples out two by two. Just be sure you are communicating with other anointed persons. I Love You!

The world should know us by our love, not the sound of our Bible thumping!! Get off the high horse and humble yourselves before the Word. If you're interested in saving souls, you must first learn to love them as Christ did. I can't remember Jesus ever instructing anyone to start a crusade against anything. Leave the abortion clinic sidewalks and stop picketing the strip clubs, get to a good sound Bible teacher who teaches from the original languages. Jesus studied the scriptures daily in the temple. Do you think you can do what he did without studying like he did? Do this and God will send people who are ready to hear the good news. If you're out looking for them then you are not doing the right thing!

Now I've been saying that stuff for years!!

I think it's because people have twisted the Word so it fits into their own agenda. If a God-fearing person would actually read the Bible and take it for what it is and not try to make it what they want it to be then they would be a little more tolerant.

I quit going to church because of the hypocrisy. Now I study at home. Just because someone says they are a "christian" doesn't mean that they are following Jesus' example.

Jesus wasn't judgemental but he did tell the truth to people about there sin more than once.
While Christians are to strive to be Christ like they are not perfect because they still live in this world where there is still a sin nature.
The thing that concerns me is that Christians have to give an answer for why they are human when the non Christian are doing much more in terms of sinning and when it is address (as Jesus would do) they call it judgemental. Christians are human just like non believers. The difference is that they know that they can't save themselves from their sins and accept that Jesus redeemed us by dying for our sins. The non believer does not believe this.

I agree and have had this conversation myself plenty of times. The Bible tell us not to judge and what is the first thing a "good church going Christian" does? 'Oh, you don't go to church? Why not? You don't believe in God' and off they go, back to the gaggle to cluck and point fingers. Is that not judging? Is it not a sin to do it while you are trying to promote Christianity?
Then you have the extremest. The ones that study the Bible from cover to cover, over and over. The take passages and analyze them until they take on a whole new meaning.
Its not that complex people. God is not a complicated person. He says what he means, that's it. No hidden messages, no riddles, just his words. If you say that you are following in His word, then do it, but you cant start making up your own rules. That's not how its played.

I do believe that some Christians can be too judgemental towards non-believers. But, I also believe that people are ignorant about who Jesus is. He didn't come here to spread love, peace and joy and pass out flowers. He was agressive with those who were self-righteous and directed his conversations to the heart of the matter and exposed sin. He called people hypocrits. He was aggressive with His enemies, and merciful to those who admitted they needed a savior and who were not too proud to show it.

"Do you suppose that I came to grant peace on earth? I tell you, no, but rather division;..." Luke 12:51

He is love and He is just....at the same time.

When Christians take a mean-spritied or judgemental attitude, it is a symptom of bad religion. Since we are all humans, we can sometimes take lose sight of what our Faith is all about. It is okay to be proud of what we believe and what evangelical, but there is a limit. Galations 4:18 says "It is fine to be zealous, provided the purpose is good, and to be so always..."

There reason you feel that some Christians can seem more "Satan-like" is because Satan is constantly attempting to disort our faith and make us into something we weren't designed by God to be. My encouragement to all of you is to stay in God's word everyday, even if for 5 minutes, so that we can further prevent others from feeling aliented by symptoms of bad religion.

Fight the good fight of faith, brothers and sisters.

hello:}
that's exactly the point ,if people would be kind ,non judgmental ,and if they really wanted to follow what Jesus taught they too could do all and more of what Jesus was able to do ,it states it clearly ,but instead the christian faith has demanded that he was a God and that he died for us so we are what off Scott free ????
i think totally different on this whole thing ,i do love Jesus and the kindness and the enlightened thoughts he TRIED to teach us but once man got a hold of the bible it became easier to simply control people and not actually follow the true teachings of Jesus .
they are now able to be less accountable for their actions and words because OH they are saved --------those of us who actually TRY to be kind and helpful and truly work at being good our simply what LOST !
i truly believe that Jesus was a master teacher and yet we have murder ,abortion ,hatred .
i say to true spiritual people ,do the best you can ,love one another as Jesus REALLY taught and if you take the teachings to heart -----love thy neighbor as thy self ---how could this world be such a hateful place .
it is simplistic in the sheer beauty of those few words but it really is all you need isn't it .
organized religion is simply a means for controlling people and not allowing then to truly be LIKE Jesus and godly in our own right .

The answer-sin. Sounds simple doesn't it. As you said "those who follow Jesus SHOULD be like Him". Do you do something just because you should do it? These believers are for the most part walking in the flesh. The flesh being the old wicked human nature. What they need to do is walk in the spirit. Below is Galatians chapter 5. Please read it. If you have any questions about what I wrote feel free to contact me.

Gal 5:1 ¶ Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Gal 5:2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.

Gal 5:3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.

Gal 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

Gal 5:5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

Gal 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

Gal 5:7 ¶ Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?

Gal 5:8 This persuasion [cometh] not of him that calleth you.

Gal 5:9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.

Gal 5:10 I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.

Gal 5:11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.

Gal 5:12 I would they were even cut off which trouble you.

Gal 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only [use] not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

Gal 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, [even] in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Gal 5:15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

Gal 5:16 ¶ [This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Gal 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

Gal 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Gal 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these]; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

Gal 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

Gal 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Gal 5:26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
