I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phones? What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets? What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it? What if we flipped through it several times a day? What if we used it to receive messages? What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it? What if we gave it to kids as gifts? What if we used it as we traveled? What if we used it in case of an emergency? What if we upgraded it to get the latest version? This is something to make you go...hmmm...where is my Bible? Oh, and one more thing. Unlike our cellphones, we don't ever have to worry about our bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill! Have a blessed day!

Angel,

I kinda have to run with LindaLou on this one. I love God, more than life itself. His Spirit, dwells in my heart, and holds the reigns of my life and mind. There are powerful truths in the Bible. Unfortunately, men have indeed tampered with the original scriptures to the extent, that the very character of God has been maligned. Many foolish and incorrect religious doctrines have been formulated by the reading and misinterpreting of these scriptures. In order to be sure we are separating the wheat from the chaff of the Bible, we must possess God's Spirit. Jesus made it clear, that if we have not received God's Spirit within us, we shall not enter His Kingdom. We must be spiritually reborn, or we are counted among the dead. Only through the teaching and guidance of the Spirit, can we correctly discover what is hidden from the eyes of the mortal reader. Then, God's love will blossom in our hearts, as we bear the true fruit of the Spirit, and love our enemies as ourselves, even as our Father does.

Never met the guy, actually. And if I treated the Bible like a cell phone, I'd look awfully silly going down the street, holding it to my ear and talking into it. Plus, my friends would have a dickens of a time trying to get in touch with me.

Yes! I do love God and His word. The best way to do what you suggest is to memorize it. I have many verses committed to memory and can use them as I need them. May God help you to start a scripture memory program. This is my prayer for you. Start with some verses you really like and go from there.

I treasure God's perfect Word... you make some good points except for "What if we upgraded it to get the latest version?" My King James works just fine for me and I do not need to upgrade it.

I have a Bible in my car, and on my desk. I have worked places where I had it in my locker and on my tool box. Sometimes I take it in with me when I eat out, And I have given them as gifts.
We would have a much better world to live in!!!

What, would people read from their bibles loudly during movies? Crash their cars because they're reading their bible on the highway? Use their bibles to take pictures of drunk girls flashing their boobs and then send it to all their friends?

The Bible says in Mark 12:29-30, "The most important commandment" Jesus answered. "is this,... Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength."...

The Word of God, and if it commands me to do as so, I will.

God Bless you! Love ya in Christ!

hmmm, i for one don't love god's words because they are the direct cause of one hell of alot of suffering. this is irrefutable i reckon. and secondly i don't believe in god himself, and therefore cannot love him. i reckon everbody should use their own brain to decide what is right and wrong. its really not that hard. you are (we all are) intelligent enough to know how to act, to try to understand one another and to appreciate the beauty of life without having to turn to an incrediably ancient version of a self-help book, if you see what i mean.
