Do you think, in general, that a guy has to RESPECT a girl as a person alot in order to date her and stay with her for a year? I mean, aside from thinking she's pretty, funny, and nice, and stuff... Can we pretty much say that he also respects her in a lot of other ways, like her morals, righteousness, courage, compassion, etc...? Or is it possible to date someone for that long without the respect? Ideas?

What type of relationship would ever last without respect? Would you stay at a job if your boss didn't respect you - I think not. Would you call someone a chum if they didn't show respect - no.

So yes I feel that a guy does have to have respect for his female partner in order for this relationship to grow and mature together. It's nice that he thinks she is the most beautiful woman on the planet with a great sense of humour etc. But to not respect or show it to a woman is a large injustice to both the partner and the relationship. I could go on and on but don't want you to fall asleep while reading responses. Ha! Have a good day and I hope I was able to answer your question correctly.

It is possible to date someone for that long without the respect - as long as you're sleeping with her.
