Good question. Very few people are going to understand it.

It makes a great difference. If we came to be through some accidental comsmic event then human beings are nothing more than a insignificant piece of the accidental cosmic universe. There really is no meaning, value or purpose other than what the strongest evolved people determine. Those with the most power, position and ability to use that power make the rules, morals and laws for everyone else. Everything is totally subjective. A human has no value other than what someone else determines. It can be given and taken away by another person. The only thing that really matters is getting all the pleasure, avoiding all the pain you can and personal survival for as long as you can or want. On the other hand if there is a creator, then peole have value, worth and meaning apart from another persons perspective. There is a reason other than simply a persons preference for treating others with dignity, they actually have a creator given dignity. There is a reason we are here, and there is a place we are going. Every decision, though, choice and action you make comes from one of thses two positions about the creation of the world.

No, it doesn't change how I live my life. Then again I have read so many different versions of how the universe and the world began that they all start sounding somewhat similar (as myths tend to do sometimes). And science doesn't really ever describe how it began. The theory is the Big Bang based upon observable evidence, but if you ask what was before the Big Bang most scientists will tell you "a singularity of some kind perhaps". It really doesn't matter, all that matters is that it is here now and that we should be responsible with our actions and take care to not do damage to that which sustains us.

If the beginning was a random accidental event then a person might live with a "existence is temporary mindset "and be less purposeful ,more random in the iractions and intent. If the Earth's creation was part of a plan by a higher power than the temptation is to live a life of purpose with the intent of discovering how we fit into the plan.

Thinking that we can know everything is simply human pride.

We are judged by our actions, not by what we believe. But think about it, if I were to say that "if you don't agree with me you are going to hell" then what have I done? I have set myself as one of "God's annointed", as superior, and you are therefore inferior. The people who hold that anything not provable by science is irrational, and therefore that all those with spiritual beliefs are ignorant, are doing the same thing.

It wouldn't make any difference to me if either evolution or the 6-day creation was proven - I still believe in the Creator, not in science as the ultimate form of truth or in some narrow portrayal of the Great Spirit that organized religion teaches.

Did you know the Big Bang theory was actually founded by a Jesuit priest? It doesn't matter to me because I'm capable of accepting scientific facts, and accepting that a higher power started it. But I really don't understand how people can say its not science, or how people can say ID is the only way that should be accepted.

I agree. Some believe in evolution and the big bang, because they trust the facts they've read. Others believe in the bible and creationism, because that's what they've been taught, and that's their faith.

Personally, I don't see why there can't be a God who created the Big Bang and evolution. But that's just me. And as long as they don't try to forcefully convert me to their religion, it doesn't matter to me if others have different belief systems.

What makes a difference is, "what does the Bible say?"

The reason - the ONLY reason - people push for evolution is to discredit the Bible. Science doesn't prove evolution, and neither does history.

God reveals the truth in the bible because HE wants us to know how the universe and everything in it came to be.
