I have my cell phone set and hearts light up for only certain people. Other people have to leave a message. Should I feel guilty or do you do it too? Thanks!

No. You should not feel guilty. Your phone, your rules.

I used to feel guilty about "screening" my calls. I wasn't doing it b/c I was avoiding anyone, I just didn't feel like talking on the phone. I'm on the phone all day at work and when I go home, it's "me" time.

It's good to set boundaries in life. So, if you're more comfortable with the system you're using, there's no reason to feel guilty.

In my opinion, you should make a point to return phone calls withing 24 hours of receiving the message. If you try to stick to this, most people should be understanding...

Absolutely not! Technology has made most people accessible 24/7. I have a saying about technology, and it applies to phone calls, text messages, emails etc.

The phone and computer is there for the "users" convenience (that would be you). Just because someone is calling does not mean you "have to" answer the phone, etc. These devices are her for "your convenience" not the callers. Don't feel guilty at all.

I do the same thing. If it's an emergency believe you me folks will know how to track me down. Keep firm with what you are doing - it's called managing "your time" and not letting "other manage it".

That's why there's caller ID and the reason you can set your phone for different ring tones --- no, don't feel guilty. I do hope that you get back with the folks that leave messages and take care of what you need to.

It's okay. You don't have to feel guilty.
BUt what if it's a important call for you and not the caller, like an opportunity, a meeting or something. And the caller doesnt feel like leaving a message?
If you're content with your life the way it is and are okay with losig out on calls that you dont perceive important, then its 100% okay, dont feel guilty.

And what's really bad is when you look at you cell and you see peole calling from Florida but we don't know any body that lives there or is there at all.......it a pain in the butt.

I do the same thing. Hey, why shouldn't you?

Some people do think that no matter what they are doing, they have to rush to answer, because otherwise it costs them money to call people back. A friend won't think of the money, because they do want to talk to you!

I figure that if someone is unable to leave a message, they aren't fit to hold a conversation with : )

I think a phone is for my convince, not for everyone else's. I never answer unless I know who it is, and then only if I want to speak with them!
Don't feel guilty!

No you shouldn't. It's your phone after all. I've use my answering machine to screen calls sometimes. There are times I just don't feel like talking to certain people.

I look at the phone as a convenience for my purposes. I pay the bill, so I figure it's my choice whether or not I want to answer. If I feel like answering, I do. If I don't feel like answering, I don't.

I would feel guilty if it's friends and family calling... you never know if it might be an emergency and they really need you. I don't answer it to my generic ring however cause I'll know it's a bill collector or somene I just don't want to speak to.
