I was walking home across a housing estate, it was just getting dark and I heard a woman shouting 'Help Help'. I ran to were she was on a small patch of grass and a youth aged around 20 had stopped on his bike and was violently trying to grab this ladys handbag off of her. I could see clearly that the woman was in in danger and she has blood on her face (He had punched her in th face before I had arrived). Without thinking I ran at him and pulldozed him to the ground (I didnt know at the time but he fractures his rist when he went over). I grabbed him and gave to the woman my mobile phone to call the police. I held him there for a few minutes until police arrived (Being called every name under the sun by him of course). When the police arrived he was arrested and put into a cop car. The police and lady thanked me repeatedly. The police got into the car...and then a few minutes later they got back out and told me that I was under arrest for assault as the man said he's pressing charges

Dont worry about it. Everyone have the right 2 take a person 2 court but it doesnt mean that they will win. The case will most likely be thrown out especially if the woman comes as your witness. Lots of judges are female & the male ones have sisters, wives & mothers too.

Judicial system is totally whacked. You may have been arrested because he is pressing charges, but if you plead the case in the matter that he was doing ill harm to someone else and you merely helped defend the woman, it may be dropped when you go to court. So frickin ridiculous. I applaud your efforts. Never change the way you are. Good job!

Regrettably in following the letter of the law, that is exactly right, but I'm sure this won't result in penatlies for you beyond probation or hopefully a suspended sentence. Mitigating factors are in your favor. Nicely done.

Don't let it discourage you. I am sure the judge will see things your way. Tell the lady you saved to file assault charges against him.

When the courts hear what you did to save the woman, you should be fine. Thanks for helping a woman in need. The world needs more men like you.

Depending on the D.A. and judge you may get lucky and they'll throw it out. What you did was admirable and courageous and they will know that.
Good Luck.
