Tea is great for a diet as long as you are not using sugar. You would have to use a sugar substitute to get the benefits of the tea without adding the calories of the sugar. Teas have great benefits health wise and also can help burn the fat. Ice tea is great because drinking the tea cold will make your metabolism speed up to heat the liquid to your bodies normal temperature.

Tea, hot or iced, is full of antioxidants and good for you. It's the sugar that's bad, bad, bad. Sweeten with Sweet n Low and add lemon slice if you want. Very refreshing drink!

Iced tea like all teas contains caffeine which will dehydrate you. Decaffeinated sugarless iced tea is fine for a calorie reduction diet.
