does anyone actually like their own name if not what would you like to have been named instead xx?

i used to hate mine ,as it is very unusual and having to repeat it, as a child was sometimes painful and embaressing. ofcourse i did get teased a bit .
as an adult i still have everyone commenting on it and the word they use to describe it is unusual ,and some try to be kind by saying it is pretty. i bet none of them would call their child by it. so my children have very plain names , which i think are beautiful. neither have had problems with them.
i considered changing my name when i was in my 20's , as I worked in the department that dealt with it in my home country, but i decided against it, mainly because it was a name my mother gave me out of love and i did not want to hurt her feelings by changing it. now i have grown used to it, and enjoy watching peoples reactions to it. i find that men seem to remember it ,better then women. there are many names i do like , but it won't change who i am now, but it does make me sure not to call my kids apple or river.

Actually, i like my own full name, because i can do lots of things with it...i've been called at least seven things in the course of my life: 1) Benjamin 2) Ben 3) Bennie 4) Benjy 5) BJ 6) BT 7)Beej 8) Begeeman 9) B-man well, you get the idea...

I want 2 b called sumit like Catlin or sumit cos a get picked on at school cos ppl say a got a black name in make fun iv me but thats the only reson why i would change it in i am kind of sort of brown but i still dont like my name just because of that what happens it school

Nah, my name is Stuart, it sucks.
I came up with a Name not long ago called Arkador, as it was a charicter in one of my stories i made for a game, i shortened it to Ark as a nickname, i suppose i wouldnt mind been called Ark.

My nickname is "Tori" and also the name I use and prefer to be called by friends and family it is a short form of my name Victoria which I find the to be a bit too pretentious for me.
