It's just how Nature designed us...instead of like most animals, who only mate to continue their species, humans got benefit of emotions....it may well have to do with how long it takes our young to grow and be self sufficient...having an emotional attachment to your partner helps ensure (somewhat) that they will be around longer to help in raising their offspring...naturally, as we know, it doesn't always work that way...

because we need companions and that is how the human nature is, like adam and eve.each human being is believed to have a partner and you'll need to stay together one day. therefore we enter into relationships in other to be happy when married in future

because we all want someone there and as human beings we have a certain attachment to people we are with quite a bit they become normality for us and without normality or lifes brake up !
