My muscles are really sore from a workout yesterday. I am taking today off but I am wondering if I should go back to the gym tomorrow...most likely my muschles will still be sore. Is it bad to workout when you're sore?
Thanks

If you overdid it, it's best to wait about three days and then go back and work out every other day-gives them some time to heal and rest. If you overdo it very much, you will develop microtears in the muscles and that isn't good. Make sure you are drinking a lot of water, stretching before working out, and use a muscle rub like Tiger Balm.

Being sore is normal, especially if (1) you didn't warm up properly and (2) you increased the weight. Resting a day in between is good. Then go tomorrow but concentrate on a different set of muscles, such as legs or arms. Rotate your muscle workouts.

When you first begin working out again you will have soreness. Your muscles have worked more then they normalyy do. When you work you actually break down muscle to rebuild it. My recommendation is to go back to the gym tomorrow and workout again you will begin to notice that the soreness diminishes in time. As has been said no pain no gain.

it takes between 3 and 7 days for a muscle to recover - it depends on the muscle and how heavy you trained it.

If you are still sore, you probably should not train those muscles.

Light movements like walking can help with recovery. It does nto stress the muscle, does not build lactic acid, but does pump blood in and out of the muscle helping to remove toxins and repair the muscles.

Did you just start working out again? If so then you can expect them to be sore, that will go away in time. Definately go back tomorrow and exercise, the soreness from the workouts will eventually subside...let your body get used to it : )

No pain no gain : )
