DANGER!!! The Atkins Diet is very dangerous. It has been shown to raise your cholesterol and triglyceride levels dangerously high and has also been attributed to increased blood pressure. What's worse, you have to stay on the diet for the rest of your life if you want to lose weight and keep it off, and that means no more bread, potatoes, or rice and very limited veggies. Also, anything with any type of sugar in it is off-limits. There's a better diet out there: The Abs Diet. You can get the book at any bookstore, and it's hard to miss -- the cover is bright orange. It's a common-sense approach to diet and exercise that's 100% safe and produces great results. They have a couple of people named in the book who lost 40 pounds (that's 2 1/2 stone, right?) in 6 weeks. It's worth checking out.

Okay I've done both so ... First of all if you've only lost 5 lbs in one month on a vegetarian diet you probably haven't been exercising and/or you've taken in too many calories. Just because it's non carnivorous doesn't mean its low calorie. Now as for ATKINS run....don't do it. I thought I was so smart and so did all the people I convinced to go on Atkins cause I lost 29 lbs in a month, BUT... not only did the weight come right back the minute I got back to the real world and ate a few carbs. but I gained back more, plus I became a B*tch while on this diet. CRANKY!!! and it was sooooo hard to concentrate as your brain has no energy due to the lack of carbs. It's so physically unhealthy too. It was fun for the first couple of days, bacon, cheese, steaks, salmon, nuts... AKA fat fat fat fat fat fat...then you start to feel like a pan of oil. Makes me sick recalling this diet. How about adding a little lean protein to the veggie diet and exercise the weight off, then you'll have a firm toned body.

Sam is right. I lost a lot of weight on the Atkins Diet. It works very, very quickly and you'll feel fine - apart from the constipation and the bad breath - because you won't be hungry.
HOWEVER - you will put every ounce of that weight back on the second you go back to 'normal' eating. I did - and more besides. I eventually used a more conventional diet and have been a size 8/10 (UK) now for more than two years.
I believe the Atkins is excellent as a quick fix - if you have a party to go to and a dress to fit into - but if you want long-term weight loss I'd recommend you use a more conventional method.

Try the South Beach Diet, really good if you can stick with it for the first two weeks the rest is soooooooo easy and you WILL loose weight.
The main thing is to plan ahead and stack up on all the foods you need mainly meat, that way its easier to stay on track.
Check it out on the Internet and the book is also available.
Not as strict as Atkins but just as effective.

Its a good diet for loosing weight but its a very bad diet for your health. Because carbs give you energy and this diet has no carb consumption you are going to be tired and your body will be run down. You may find that not only will you be lacking in energy but you may feel a little depressed caused by the tiredness. Carbs are important in the diet for absorbing some essential vitimans into the body thats why we add carbs to many meals such as beans on toast or steak and chips. I personally think that no matter how much you need to loose weight, the atkins diet should never be a solution because its too damaging to your body.

I have been doing Atkins for over a year. I highly recommend it as a LIFESTYLE. I have lost weight, my skin has cleared up, my aches and pains are mostly gone. I feel great.
If you treat it as a "diet" the results will be the same as for EVERY other diet...you will lose weight, then gain it back when you resume your old ways.
If you treat it as a permanent lifestyle, you will be healthier and lose weight in the long run.

Cellulite does not come from a single cause. It almost always comes from a combination of generic and hormonal factors. Some wrong behaviors, however, can cause or even worsen cellulite: a life that is too sedentary, altered blood circulation, incorrect diet with insufficient intake of fluids, smoking and alcoholic beverages, high heels and close-fitting garments. The plasma fluid, transudated from impaired and weakened capillaries, accumulates and stagnates in surface adipose tissue.
Cellulite can be reduced by a balanced diet and specific treatments https://tr.im/gYHzZ

the only risk isn't even a risk. It is a reality, you will pile the weight back on. It is a carb free diet. To loose weight healthily you ought to be looking at 2lb per week. (1000 calories less per day than you eat normally)
You will probably loose up to 5lb in the first week as the change in diet and ercise will get rid of all that water retained

I do medical research. I don't believe in creams or other useless products like gels or lotions. Cellulite is not a skin problem, it's an underlying structural issue. Check out this site http://nocellulite.toptips.org
It has a lot of useful tips about natural remedies to treat cellulite.
