i have win xp pro w/sp2 and wanted to know if i need to burn recovery discs, eventhough i complained to the manufacturer that my computer was acting up they sent me nine discs. not sure what's what's written on them. thanks for your input

They should contain exactly what was on your hard drive when you purchased your system--operating system and apps, etc. The question is whether they are bootable or not, although it's simple enough to find out. Shut down your system, stick in the first CD and then boot up. Of course, do not proceed with the recovery unless you have previously saved any data and or apps from your current system. By "acting up", what do you mean? If you have hard drive problems, replace the drive and then install the recovery discs (afer saving your stuff).

Hey Brutus popeye here! Just kidding. 9 CD's well you need to see which is a recovery, driver CD, others i cant think. Mostly they send 2. Just call them, let them figure which is a recovery disk and then keep it side and use it when you decide to format reinstall. Better back up your data before you format.

With all those the company sent you there is NO need to burn any backup.......Only do a backup of your personal Data..

Your manufacturer is a lazy bum. Tell them to bring labled disks, because that's what you deserve.!!!!!
