And how come blue raspberry and some other flavors don't? I mean, It's just flavored sugar and water right? How can sugar cause Heartburn?

well I wasn't aware that Kool Aid used any natural ingrediants and besides grape and cherry aren't citrus fruits, they'd be about the same as raspberry.

All the Kool-Aid packets say 100% Daily Vitamin C on it right?

Vitamin C is also known as Asorbic Acid. If you have ever taken this supplement it actually has a vaguly citrusy taste.

This might be causing the burn. Vitamin C is itself an Acid. Also a lot of drinks add some kind of acid to balance out the sugar for (tartness). It does better in the taste panels this way.

Also just FYI carbonated drinks?aka Carbonic Acid...

Crazy huh? Thats why it is hard on your teeth x 2

Dear Topher,

I'd be willing to bet that there's a level of citric acid flavoring in grape and cherry at a higher level than the others. That acid gives you heartburn, I think.
