I had my wisdom teeth removed on August 3 and the actual process went something like this:
7:45 - arrive at office and fill out some forms
8:00 - get blood pressure taken and receive IV placement
8:05 - Receive sedative (they put me out)
8:05 and ten seconds - SLEEP! ;)
8:45 - You are just about ready to leave
The actual removal took only about 30 minutes, but recovery is the real kicker. I slept a good 3 hours on and off once I got home and my bottom lip and chin was numb for the rest of the day. Once the bleeding subsides (give it about 5 hours) I reccommend going without the gauze for awhile (only if the amount of blood on the gauze is minimal). It will clot quicker. Good luck! (It's not bad)

It depends on the tooth and who is taking it out. It can take 2 minutes or 30 minutes per tooth and this does not include waiting to get numb. Unless it is an easy extraction, I recommend that patients go to the Oral Surgeon. They take out teeth all day, every day and have more experience removing teeth (they had to go to school longer than a general DDS). They can also put you to sleep.

My teeth were impacted, but I still chose to stay awake for the procedure. It took only 5 minutes at the most to remove all four, it didn't hurt and I wasn't uncomfortable at all, you don't even need to open your mouth that wide. I was able to eat all I wanted before and was not drowsy after. I even drove myself home from the procedure. I definitely recommend staying awake.

i'm not sure mine had roots that grew in 90 degree angles.. took 6 hours to get 2 out.

???

my friend said it took 3 hours to get 2 out, but hers were in good condition just had to be removed so there was room for her better teeth.. just her wisdoms were really too big and too much trouble to just keep.

?

I don't know. I was under a general anesthetic, as my teeth were impacted. Being knocked out is a good idea. That way, you just wake up, and it's all over and done with.
