Why, pray tell, does his faith anger you? How do you know, or assume to know that he thinks everyone thinks like him?

History will judge Bush, and this country at this time, as being an embarrassment from the standpoint of the many idealistic foundations the founders drafted when creating the USA.
I sincerely hope that, after the impending replacement of all those in congress who have marched in lock step beside him are voted out of office this fall, the new congress will actively and successfully proceed with impeachment proceedings. In a just world, all wrongs are eventually righted.

Its not his faith that bothers me...Its his aloofness toward the American people. He does not care about the needs of the American People! He cares only about big business. When confronted with difficult questions he makes jokes and spins the issue into another direction. The man is a puppet for the billion dollar Corporations, Oil Companies,Auto Companies, Halburton. The man is a CEO in sheeps clothing!

That's it, he see's the United States as one big Christian country, and not just any Christian but his particular brand of Christian. He also seems to think that this is tied into our political system, morals, values, etc. (all of which should also be uniform, in his mind). These are the same values he sees us bringing to the rest of the world, it seems. Then again, you could say it is all a smokescreen for him to get power and influence...but he seems like he really believes all the crap he spouts. THAT is the scariest thing of tall. What he is really doing is taking into consideration ONLY "his" kind of Americans and acting like the rest of us either don't exist, or are just plain wrong, just like he sees the rest of the world that doesn't agree with him. And yes, it drives me nuts too.

It doesn't anger me, it makes me sad. Sad that in this country where we are supposed to have freedom to practice any religion we wish to, only one religion is considered worthy. Sad that despite the First Amendment prohibition against the establishment of a national church, we have people like Bush who try to legislate everything that they can to be similar to Christian values. This is despite the fact that we have a pluralist society that not only includes many, many denominations of Christianity but lots of other religions as well. I think until we start respecting this diversity of faith (and other issues) we are just going to continue to be a nation of bigots, racists and bullies.

I don't think that he assumes that everyone thinks like him. That sounds like a liberal statement. George Bush is a true American president because he believes in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and is a follower of Christ. Our founding fathers (first presidents of the U.S.) were Christian too. If you don't want to support our president and our country's values, then you are not a true American and you need to move to France.

I think George Bush is a great President considering what he has had to go through during his last few years. He's beliefs in God is what has got him through these times so far. I'm shur not many people ( our prior President ) would not have known what steps to have taken when or if he was in reign in these times.....

He is hard nosed about a lot of things. He def. makes me mad. but I often wonder who would do a better job....this is probably the worst presidency in decades but it is also has the most complicated issues. I just wish we would leave them damn people in the middle east to their own devices......I hate it that our noses is in every bodys ***! In the beggining it was mostly for the damn oil...but now it is getting to the point that the world is at risk to be blown off its axis!!!! So, now we have to be envolved or die!! Pissses me off!!!! We have the best technology in the world but yet we are a slave to oil???? What the hell??? Can we come up with another form of energy to survive!!!

He knows many people don't think like him.
What you have to consider is his position in history.
I mean, look back at footage from Kennedy or Reagan, or even Nixon. Or go back even further, and you'll realize that the presidency is WAY more important than what he's trying to make it seem.
So he's worried about his position in history.

It's more scary than anything else to know that this man's decisions (after consulting with a voice in his head) will affect the lives of billions...
And for those people who haven't gotten it into their heads, religion <> morality. Countless atrocities have been comitted (and still are comitted) in the name of various religions, but not one in the name of atheism. Yes there were bad atheists (like stalin), but they did not use atheism to justify their actions. This is proof that morality does not flow from religion, but from men.
