Is it spot bleeding or the full-on cycle? Spot bleeding when you start the pill is common. Read the information that came with it to see if there are any signs and symptoms that you should be looking for. Regardless, talk to your OB/GYN about this. The hormones in the pill might be too strong for you, or need adjusting. Your body does have an adjustment time to the pill, but it's better to be safe than sorry. I know I went through hell and back when I started on the pill for my polycystic ovary syndrome, and I get killer periods with lots of heavy bleeding still. Good luck!

Yes, After my first daughter was born, I got back on the pill. I was getting two full periods a month. So my obgyn put me on a different pill, still the same thing. She said it would take three or four months for my body to get used to it. But I just went off the pill, I could not handle getting my period every week!!!

yes - breakthrough bleeding is common when first starting on the pill & while annoying, should clear up by your next full cycle of pills. you might want to mention it to your ob/gyn, tho, in case it's possible you could have fibroid tumors. they cause irregular bleeding & are not too difficult to treat. good luck & take care!
