Sometimes on board, some of the designated "party" areas never really get going so if you can't find one, keep looking. A warning about alcohol though. They push it rather hard and it's expensive. Keep a running tab in your head so you don't end up with a surprise when your bill comes!
I'm not sure where in the Bahamas you're going to, but in Key West, definitely take the time to walk around town by yourself. There are so many cool little shops and secluded high $$ streets you can walk down. I found this cool little park with a gorgeous fountain when I was there...stunning!
Have a great vacation!

If your going to Nassau Bahamas , visit the Altantis. Its a huge Hotel Casino , very popular and absolutely beautiful. They even have an aquarium inside .The ship pulls in only about 5-10 min taxi ride away , so you dont have to worry about timing getting to the ship. Also Nassau is a nice place to swim w/ dolphins.
Key West :Very small place , Duvall St is the hot spot , theres shopping and restaurants and bars , lots of them .Very cool atmosphere. There really isn't any swimming beaches but 1 and its SO small.
Keys are good for relaxing , strolling and shopping.
As for the ship , there are so many things to do and from what I can tell from your itinerary your only on it 3 - 4 nights at the most. For your first cruise , good choice .Be aware of getting off the ship though, They let you get off by your color tag on your luggage.I have waited as long as 2 hours to be called and believe me on the last day at 7 or 8 am you just want to leave.
Be patient at that time.Get a drink and relax.
Have a great time !

You will probably be at sea at night. There are shows, partying and midnight buffets, so there is no need to get off the ship at night. Key West is nice to walk around in, there are a lot of souvenir shops. Be careful in the Bahamas. The people there will try to rip you off. One man offered to take our picture with my camera, I thought he was being nice, then he told me there was a 2 dollar charge. The boat will make you crazy, but that's OK. There are maps all over. Just when you can find your way around, the cruise is over.

My dh and I just went on our first cruise to the Carribean this summer and I have to say it was great- always something to do and the food was unbelievable!!
Entertainment plenty of clubs, singing, shows, casino, pools, shopping etc... all the time.
We went to Western Carribean and the ports were great - just wish we were able to spend more than 1 day at each one
We went on a large ship room on 10th floor but even though boat was so big it never felt overcrowded - did not have to wait in lines except for when getting back on the boat at ports of call.
Have a Great Vacation!!!

What cruise line are you going on? I have been on 3. All have been on Norwegian. I have been 2 times to Alaska and 1 time to the E. Carribbean. Loved it all times. There are lots of free stuff to do but go early to get good seats. You should get information in the evening (we got a news letter on our pillow) mapping out all the activities for the next day. We would go thru it before bed to plan what we wanted to do. Go to the lectures for each port. They are informative. The Alcholic drinks and pop cost. They will come around offering drinks (like at the send off party) but they are not free. On Norwegian you are not allowed to bring Alcohol on board to drink in your room. You can buy a refillable pop for the cruise. But it was $44 and my husband (who is the pop drinker) would not pay. Inspite of that, we Love to cruise. We are actually booked on a Cruise in October that is leaves out of Seattle, Wa and end up in Ensenada Mexico. Seems like every time we get off a Cruise we book another within a month or 2. We love antisipating. This time we are going on a Celebrity ship just to compare. When you get on board, Explore. We go thru each new ship from stem to stern. I thought I would not like it because I get motion sick. but I have had no problems. My husband says cruising is a lot of no.
No Dishes
No phones
No housework
No cooking
You can be as active as you want or as lazy as you want. It is up to you. Each cruise line is different. If you are on Carnival it has more parties. Norwegian is free style, which means you do not have a set time for dinner. Celebrity and Royal Carrebbean are suppose to be a step up from Norwegian. You can eat all you want. If you want more just ask. The hardest thing is to get up and walk away without paying. Just did not seem right.
On other thing. They push pictures. They are trying to take your picture every chance they get. We had to start saying NO!!! We do get our picture taken with the Captian.
You'll love the Bahamas.
Have fun on your cruise. Relaxe, you will love it.

I don't know how old you are, but BE VERY CAREFUL with drinking on boat. They will start offering you drinks right after you step foot into the boat (I'm not kidding on this) all the way through you step out.
Those drinks are super expensive and you won't know it until you settle your charges. (you just sign for it when you accept the drinks)
On the other hand, if you drink soft drinks, it is often better to buy the all-you-can-drink ticket as you board. It will often come out cheaper.
