A pathological liar (Amer) is someone who often embellishes his or her stories in a way that he or she believes will impress people. It may be that a pathological liar is different from a normal liar in that a pathological liar believes the lie he or she is telling to be true—at least in public—and is "playing" the role. It is not clear, however, that this is the case. It could also be that pathological liars know precisely what they are doing. Making up stories and at the same time believing them is known as confabulation. The term "pathological liar" is not an official clinical diagnosis however psychiatrists may agree that pathological lying is often the result of a mental disorder or low self-esteem.
Even though pathological lying is not recognized as a clinical disorder, legal court cases often require that you prove that the defendant is aware that he or she is lying. This proof is most important in cases of slander and/or liability.

sure. in many cases pathelogical liars lie to benefit compliment, acceptance, or in any incorrect way the two conform with or seem greater suitable/distinctive to others. So, it would make experience that a pathelogical liar might tell those that he/she substitute into such, being that there could be some variety of area of workmanship utilized to them by applying others who pay attention the lie. that's the comparable as announcing, "i'm so stupid", so as to learn useful comments from others, who say, "Oh no! you're actually not stupid in any respect."

its not really a disease, its more a condition. what it is is a person who lies so much that they begin to believe and live out there lies. this type of person has found themselves so deap in the lies that they have no idea how to stop without telling everyone the truth and coming off as a total a$$, as they are. i was one once, so i know exactly what it is. but i resolved to tell nothing but the truth for the rest of my life, and i dont care if the truth hurts anyone anymore, the truth is the only thing that should be spoken.

usually a person whom needs attention, but has nothing to say, so they make up things to be noticed and recieve attention. Pathelogical means they have been doing it for so long that it is part of their everyday life, and they dont even realize it anymore, hence, they believe everything that they tell others.

I think it means somebody who just lies and lies like you said, but if you catch them in one lie, they make up another lie about that. Basically someone who lies just to do it. This is guessing though, because I don't exactly remember

A person that lies so much, it is a sickness for them. They almost can't help themselves - they lie all of the time. My ex-wife was like that. Lie after lie after lie. I think they actually lie so much that they loose track of what the truth is. They lie to the point to where they belive their own lies.
