We're all comedians and think a smart remark like that can make a woman take notice. I suppose in real life they never work because women are always aware of men's tactics and they prefer someone who is friendly, honest and easy to talk to rather than someone who relies on the "Cheesy Book of Chat Up Lines" (subtitled "How to Pull in 1 Easy Lesson")

Girls.....for the love of God just chill would you. These guys are scared to death of approaching you and resort to these silly lines. All they are doing is trying to make contact.

If you don't want to take it anywhere then be gracious and polite about it. Please don't add further to the myth that all women are heartless bitches......try to be nice to us because one day...you're going to meet a man and you're going to be begging to yourself that he'll come over and say hello but he's not going to.....because he'll realise the extent of the agression and intolerance in your heart if you've ever blown a man out horribly for trying to chat to you. You have all been warned ladies.

Cheesy chat up lines are a way to break the ice. They are a way to start talking from a laugh.
or would you prefer to chat with someone who is sad and dour faced i don't think so most people want to be happy

that one is quite cute and harmless, albeit corny.
some of them are original and must have taken some thought. is it not women who list a sense of humour as one of the better assets a man should have? i say bring on the lines,at least the guy is trying.and really they know that we think they are coming with pick up lines, which makes the man who ventures rather brave.
