What first comes to mind is that a Christian is someone who has accepted God's free gift of salvation. Yes, I have been a Christian for almost 50 years.

I am a Christian; therefore, when I hear the word Christian in a positive statement I feel happy, but when I hear the word "Christian" used in a negative way I get upset because I feel that no one has the right to pick on God's little children and on work that is being done for the Lord

On this site, so many people have forgotten there is the right to the free expression of religion, or they do not understand what these words mean and how they can be applied. This right means different groups of believers can live and bring up their families as they choose. I truly believe this right is being abridged, ie, cannot have a manger scene in my yard that expresses my beliefs.

Another right that too many people on this site seem to have a problem with is that Christians and other believers can state publicly who they are and what they believe, because we all have freedom of speech. They seem to hate this right, if a Christian or other believer says what they believe, and it does not align with what they (ie, atheists) believe. This is a problem.

So, I am a Christian by faith. I have worked hard to find my faith, coming from strong atheism to what I now believe. I am happy to explain my very good reasons for my faith. You can engage or not, it is your choice.

Now, after saying that, there are a lot of either screwy Christians on this site, or Atheists who are playing games by co-opting Christian issues and then taking unrealistic, extreme, or judgemental positions.

Yes I am a christian but most christians are not what the world portrays us to be. The world thinks all Christians are the idot you see on tv down by the courthouse with signs up in the air saying you must be born again to get into heaven or the guy holding a bible up in the air while he yells words at anyone walking down the sidewalk. These people are nutty people that give all true Christians a bad image. There are types of nuts in this world but believe me when I say not all Christians are like that.

Christ's Follower's are Christians. The way Jesus lived, teaching & leading. Jesus also did not quote other people. This only tells me that Jesus was a leader. So yes I try to qualify as a Christian even though I do fail teaching and leading in the best ways. I know some people do not always believe everything they read in the Bible, but reading it, will change your life for the best.

Christian to me means someone who is Christ Like in there ways. The only way that you can be Christ-like is if you give God all of you. Study his word and do his word. I am a Christian and I am proud to say that I am. Although when you are a real christian you will suffer?
Why did you ask this question? Are you a christian? I will pray that if you aren't that you will in your own time by your own choice become one. If you are a christian I will pray that you continue in the Lord and that he bless your every endeavor.

Untrustworthy. Whenever people tell me they are Christians, I grab my hat.

My experience has been that those are the same people who tend use their "Christianity" to substantiate prying, passing judgement, rude, nasty, bigoted, petty, or downright disgusting behavior.

True Christians show their faith through their kind deeds and words, They don't need to tell anyone what their beliefs are. True Christians are recognized by everyone.

Yes, I am a Christian and hope that I always exhibit Christian "Christ-like" behavior.

For the next 5-10 minutes, the person (the Christian) is going to be very interested to explain to me what they believe, but have no interest in hearing what I believe.

I am a Pantheist.
