EVERYtime I make coffee, some of the grounds manage to get into the coffee itself! I only use 2 small scoops in my filter to make a 10 cup pot of coffee. I thought it was my coffee maker, so I bought a new one, but the very first day I started using it, the coffee grounds were there!!!! So it's obviously something that I'M doing wrong. How do I fix it?! AARRGGHH!!!

Your coffee maker sucks. The water level gets high in the filter bucket causing slip over which results in grinds in your coffee. Buy a better more expensive coffee maker or just chew on the grinds, yum!

if youve been using the same pot and it had grounds in the coffee last time run some water and vinegar (i think) without the grounds and filter in there and then after that run plain water through it and then wash the pot out that should get rid of the grounds . also everytime before you put a new filter in wash the holder for it if its detachable , then make sure all the grounds are in the middle of the filter , should make it a lot better that way.

Perhaps by trying the new prepackaed or enclosed filter and coffee types. I swear by them and have never had to deal with the grounds at the bttm of the pot or the cup since. Yes they are a bit more $$ but without the added cost of a filter they are actually a cheaper buy.
Another option may be to simply buy a finer grind of coffee.

Try using a different filter. Maybe the water is filling it up somehow and the coffee is running over. Or is the filter collapsing in the coffee maker? That's easy to fix.

Put the coffee in the coffee filter BEFORE you put the water under the pot. Also, make sure that the filter is in good and make sure that all of the coffee is in the filter.

It happens when my wife makes coffee too! When I make it, it is OK, the secret is like I showed my wife, it is all in putting the filter in correctly, if it has a seam in it, take your finger and press it smooth, and go around the top of the filter and make sure it is all pressed back so it doesn't fold over from the water running on it. Make that filter fit right and maybe change filter brands, they do make a difference.

i had this problem too. now, i add the grounds to the filter, THEN i place the filter/grounds in the coffee maker. make sure the edges of the filter are not folding down at all. the water filters over the grounds from the top, so by making sure that the filter isnt folded down, this wont let the water push the edges of the filter down.

hope this pelps.

Try using a different kind of filter that may work. It's not allowing your coffee to filter through fast enough.

Mine does it if the coffee filter has any sort of fold or crease in it. So make sure your filter is placed in exactly right. This should solve your problem.

It's probably the filters. Get some better filters or double up on them.
