This answer depends on if your asking about a girl or woman? A girl would be happy with whatever is the newest fad among girls. You would do good to get the most expensive rare item from the fad so she can impress her friends, and your bonus is she's gonna be telling a lot of other girls who gave it to her! Now if your asking what to get a woman it's a whole new ball game. Women love gifts that have meaning. Something that shows you have listened when she talked about her likes and dislikes. A gift from something she had mentioned months ago that she liked or was impressed with will earn you tons of brownie points for your memory. Any last minute gifts and you might as well kick your own self to the curb! Something else about a woman, well in the beginning any way is it doesn't matter how much you spend on the gift. It must have thought and purpose to impress her. So my best advice is when that special occassion is coming up plan ahead. Way ahead. Start paying more attention to things she says that you know would bring her a tear because you cared enough to care about her thoughts and opinions. Plan ahead & you'll be ahead!

The gift of his time. Knowing that my bf made something for me or planned something very special is the best present. If it looks like he just ran to the store that day and bought the first thing he came across, then I'm very disappointed.

I think that most girls have too much Jewlery and clothes and make up.
I think that the best present is a Borders or Barnes and Nobles giftcard if not that then a book.

I'm not as materialistic as I use to be so I'd prefer a nice night or weekend out. Just me and my man, no drama, no cares, no cell phones or the outside world. We could get massages, take a bubble bath together, go to the movies, a nice dinner, and/or bowling/pool/skating/to a museum, if he wanted to include a gift, i'd prefer he put a nice cd together with songs that makes him think of me so I can add it to my ipod, a perfume he picked out, some lingerie he picked out or something he'd like me to wear for him. I like relationship gifts from my man, not stuff other people can get me.

I always like to receive gifts that I know the guy put some thought into, something personal he knows I would enjoy. Something gifted especially for me. Something he wouldn't be able to give to just anybody. I really don't care about the price. It's knowing that he made the effort to at least try to get something "I" would like.

It really depends on the woman. I love to go hunting, so for me it would be anything camo or maybe some shotgun shells for something small but other women only want stuff that you spend your whole paycheck on something they will wear maybe twice a year (i.e. special necklace, ear rings, sexy clothes). Give me something I can use more than once or twice a year.

A b/f once gave me a necklace that was a gold heart woth a little star made of (fake) diamonds in the center. I love to wear necklaces so it was a great gift for me. I ended up throwing it at him though when we broke up. I miss that necklace.
