A child in the beach having icecream doesnt care about the purpose of life...nor is sad. This curiosity itself is misery it seems. To abandon all desire to 'know' would be great. To live itself is the purpose of life. What else? and because all are poeple like ourselves, it is good to have consideration and compassion for all. If you can be watchful of yourself, live by applying your intelligence, be fair with all...then I guess the purpose of life will find you.

I think the Tubes said it best... here you go

What do you want from life
To kidnap an heiress
or threaten her with a knife
What do you want from life
To get cable TV
and watch it every night

There you sit
a lump in your chair
Where do you sleep
and what do you wear
when you're sleeping

What do you want from life
An Indian guru
to show you the inner light
What do you want from life
a meaningless love affair
with a girl that you met tonight

How can you tell when you're doin' alright
Does your bank account swell
While you're dreaming at night
How do know when you're really in love
Do violins play when you're touching the one
That you're loving

What do you want from life
Someone to love
and somebody that you can trust
What do you want from life
To try and be happy
while you do the nasty things you must

Well, you can't have that, but if you're an American citizen you are entitled to:
a heated kidney shaped pool,
a microwave oven--don't watch the food cook,
a Dyna-Gym--I'll personally demonstrate it in the privacy of your own home,
a king-size Titanic unsinkable Molly Brown waterbed with polybendum,
a foolproof plan and an airtight alibi,
real simulated Indian jewelry,
a Gucci shoetree,
a year's supply of antibiotics,
a personally autographed picture of Randy Mantooth
and Bob Dylan's new unlisted phone number,
a beautifully restored 3rd Reich swizzle stick,
Rosemary's baby,
a dream date in kneepads with Paul Williams,
a new Matador, a new mastodon,
a Maverick, a Mustang, a Montego,
a Merc Montclair, a Mark IV, a meteor,
a Mercedes, an MG, or a Malibu,
a Mort Moriarty, a Maserati, a Mac truck,
a Mazda, a new Monza, or a moped,
a Winnebago--Hell, a herd of Winnebago's we're giving 'em away,
or how about a McCulloch chainsaw,
a Las Vegas wedding,
a Mexican divorce,
a solid gold Kama Sutra coffee pot,
or a baby's arm holding an apple?

So you attend church, right? Well there you go. Read the Bible, pay attention to Bible class lessons and sermons. As a Christian (one born of water- a child of God) our purpose in life is to live righteously, teaching others of the Salvation to be found within God's word. When one has Jesus in their life, they're most certainly be filled with joy and much to do. Grant it, it's not a walk in the park. But otherwise, get back in school. Major in that which interests you most. Then go out and get a job in that field. Get married, have a family, etc... Travel. Do community service. Best wishes!

I am almost 39 years old. I was 33 before I realized what i was put on earth to do. I use to work for Canada post mail then one day I decided i was quitting and becoming a foster parent . That was 6 yrs ago and my family and I haven't been happier. My husband and I have two children ages 22 and 18 we just adopted a child age 6. When your purpose comes along believe me you will know. So don't give up just yet!

It finds you you don't find it. Well, if you open your eyes you might see it. But if you go off looking you tend to look in the wrong places.

God and the angels usually nudge you. Ever feel it. Ever turn your head for no reason and see something that changes your life. Plan to make a right turn but instead for no reason turn left.

Sometimes you don't know what to do next or you just don't see it.

It's about opening your eyes and diving into the pool.

I'm in the same boat of emotions as you. I eat, work, sleep, go to the bathroom, breathe...etc. I do have dreams I would like to accomplish in my future, but I always wonder what my role is here on Earth. Sometimes I look around to those who are successful and I think to myself, "why can't I be like them?" It's depressing I know, but we must make life the best we can while we're alive here on Earth. Life is short...

Why does everyone think life must have an overriding purpose? It's worth living simply for the sake of living.

God only knows why you are here. He is the all knowing and the great "I am". If you want to know which way to go in life, seek the Lord. Pray and ask for direction. If you surrender to HIm, He will direct your path. Trust is the key. Trust in the Lord and his love for us. If we trust Him, He will be our guide. Pray and listen. You will know that you know what He has for you.
