You don't need to uninstall windows...
All you need to do is a clean install...
Put in your WINXP cd and select the Clean/New install option,
this will wipe your hard drive clean and allow you to fully format it before reinstalling Windows.

Make sure you back up your data twice over. When your ready to install, restart your computer and pop in the installation CD so that you could perform a "new windows installation." Then, when prompted to, delete your old partition and use "unused space" to install your new windows XP. I would recommend formatting your hard drive with ""NTFS (quick)"" because it will take only a minuite or two to format. Good Luck!

After backing-up all the files you want to keep, insert a bootable disc in its corresponding drive, restart your computer, go to the BIOS setup program, specify the drive you have the bootable disc in as the primary boot device, save the settings, restart your computer again; after the OS on the bootable drive has been loaded, use it to format your hard-drive.
Now, insert the "Windows" installation disc and start the setup program.
