Great question - lots of retarded answers...here's mine!
There are still human beings because we invented thumbs where as chimps have only got webbed fingers like a snake (an underwater one)...
Once we had thumbs we could open cans of beer and pick up guns and the rest is juuuuuusssttttt history

Chimpanzees did not evole from humans. Nor did humans evolve from chimpanzees. Both humans and chimps did evolve from a common ancestor millions of years ago.

Chimpanzees did NOT evolve from humans. Neither did humans evolve from chimpanzees....
They both evolved from a common ancestor. Chimpanzees are the way they are because they are adapted to their environment. It's called "natural selection".

My friend, there is no such thing a chips evolving from human beings. If you are a human being, you remain a human being PERIOD. Cats remain cats and so forth. When you die, the only thing that happens you go to the one that made you and body goes back to the soil. You will never ever evolve into a monkey.

This is what happened....
Back in the day, there were chihumans (no relation to chihuahuas). Some of the chihumans lived in one place and wanted to change, and some lived in another place and wanted to change in a different way. The Great Evolution Fairy in the Sky decided that she was tired of all the whining, so she said, "Let there be humans". And it took a while but it was good. Then she said, "Let there be chimps" and it also took a while but it was also good. And she never rested, 'cause she's not a lazy a**.

Only the best humans slowly evolved into chimps. The weaker of the species remained humans as they bred.
Okay this isn't really my view but I felt the need for a silly answer to your silly question.

Wow! So, I know that chimps didn't evolve from humans and everything and that we rather shared a common ancestor, and personally I have no idea why there are still humans because most of us are idiots! *Sigh* I miss science class sometimes. Seems some of the people answering you did too ;)

Get your Darwinism straight before you go posting dumb questions.
Supposedly, HUMANS evolved from APES. Yes, there are still apes. That's because Darwinism is a THEORY, as is Creationism, as is the idea that aliens are using us all as test subjects. So before you purport the idea of ONE of these theories, you should be open to the others as well.
LOVE Stephen's answer..LOL!

Or perhaps a more important question would be this. How can life forms turn into different species? Who would they breed with? How do explain that an overwhelming statistical number of genetic changes (or defects) are lethal to an organism, hence, long term changes by way of these defects are beyond improbable.
