may I suggest you check out the following website

www.thegoodshoppingguide.co.uk

On this website you can order a book which is 'The Good Shopping Guide' published by the Ethical Marketing Group. the book is not expensive and I have found it very useful when choosing where to buy things from.

hopefully this will show you which manufacturers are ethical and which ones are best avoided.
