The first thing she needs to do is call upon Jesus for help. She must seek help, she cannot do this alone. Find a counselor or Pastor to talk to.

Just be available for her at anytime. Their is no easy answer. Nothing you say or do will make it better. If you can get her to talk about it that might help. It does not matter that she was 20 the pain is their and is always going to be their. The problem is finding a reason for her to keep going. The only thing that kept me from going off the deep end was my oldest son. I had to keep going for him. This could last a real long time so be ready for a long adjustment period. Make sure you are as honest with her as you can be even if it seems rude. If she talks about suicide and you don't like it tell her. I have had people do that to me and i have slapped them across the face and told them that they are not taking the chicken sh!t way out. It seems to snap them out of it for a while anyway.

Hospice has grief counselors and support groups. Most of the people they support lost loved ones through a long illness - but they do grief work very well. They could also give a good referral to any other local support groups that may deal more directly with sudden loss.

I also live near Orlando. Please check out compassionate friends. It is a support group for the parents of a deceased child of ANY age. I have included the link to the longwood chapter but you can look it up online. They are really, really good.
