Kool-Aid Playdough
2 1/2 c Flour
1/2 c Salt
2 pk Unsweetened Kool-aid
2 c Boiling water
3 tb Vegetable oil
Mix dry ingredients. Add water and oil, stir. Mix or knead with hands when cool. Store in Ziploc bag or container with lid. Lasts for several months.

Edible Peanut Butter Play Dough
Please note that it contains peanuts to anyone who has allergies.
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup powdered milk
Mix all together. Let the children go for it. They can shape anything they want and then eat what they create.
------------------------
Fruity Playdough
Ingredients:
1 cup flour
1/4 cup salt
2 Tbsp cream of tartar
1 pkg Kool-Aid or Jell-O
1 cup water
1 Tbsp oil
Mix dry ingredients together in a medium pan. Add water & oil.
Cook, stirring, on medium heat for 3-5 minutes until a ball is formed.
Turn out on a well floured surface, add as much flour as needed for the dough to not be too sticky. Knead for 1 minute
This recipe doubles easily.
Rumor is that Lemon/lime Kool-Aid doesn't work, apparently Lime Jello does work.
Keep in airtight container.
A bit of oil can be added to moisten playdough that has accidentally been left out too long.
The balls are soft, easy for kids to work with, and smell fantastic.

Here is a no-cook version of the recipe above. This one was posted in March 2001 on BabyCenter's Toddler Activities board. Unfortunately I didn't get the name of the mom who posted it.
It's fun and it's easy.
1/2 cup salt
2 1/2 cups flour
3 Tbsp oil
2 pkg Kool-Aid
2 cups boiling water
Mix it up, let it cool and get out the cookie cutters!

2 cups, of flour,1/2 cup of salt, 2 packages unsweetened kool-aid, 2 tablespoons alum, 1 tablespoon oil.
mix all ingredients in bowl, Add 1 and 1/2 cups boiling water. If water is not boiling, the playdough will not have the right consistency. stir until well blended. Knead until smooth. Sometimes it is necessary to add a little more flour. The Kool-aid adds both color and fragrance. I like to make playdough with my kids and have children to do the measuring, mixing, and kneading. This keeps well in a closed container on the shelf.! Good Luck!

THIS IS THE RECIPE MY GRANDMOTHER USED TO MAKE AND NOW I MAKE IT FOR MY KIDS. IT IS GREAT! IT IS VERY MANAGEABLE And LASTS A LONG TIME WITHOUT BEING TOO MESSY.
1 CUP FLOUR
1/4 CUP SALT (COARSE SALT IS BEST)
1 TBSP OIL
APPROX 1/2 CUP WARM WATER
MIX DRY INGREDIENTS
ADD OIL
MIX
SLOWLY ADD WATER UNTIL THE DOUGH IS THE RIGHT CONSISTENCY. IF IT IS TOO STICKY ADD FLOUR, TOO STIFF ADD WATER, (IN SMALL AMOUNTS UNTIL THE BATCH IS RIGHT.)
ENJOY.
YOU CAN ADD SOME FOOD COLOURING (TO THE WATER)FOR FUN AS WELL.
