I am eight months pregnant and my 11 month old started getting teeth last month (he has 6 now no more coming in) and it is like someone pulled a shade he will only sleep maybe one hour at night in his crib. He takes one nap after lunch around 1pm for only 40 mins. that is it. He is baby #4 my only one that is like this. We try to let him cry it out after 9 mins. he makes himself throw up every time.......AHHHHH So now I have a bunch of laundry. We bring him in bed with us he tosses and turns and just will not sleep. He gets little sugar in his diet all homemade natural foods. We have tried chamomile tablets they do not work for him. I am so sleepy my pregnancy is now suffering. PLEASE HELP :)

No Doctor will tell you to do this, but most will tell you it is done and has been done for ages. Your child may be having diegistive or teething problems. A solution I used on my children for the digestive was to let them have a half teaspon of red wine(NOT ALL THE TIME! Just once in a while). It made the children sleepy, and assisted their stomach. For teething, I would dip my finger in whiskey and then rub my finger on their gums. This worked all the time. I told my doctor, doctor said he would have prescribed something if needed but that he also believed some of the "old remedies" still work best.

Welcome to parenthood, look you will never rest again for another 5 to 6 years it sound mean but it the truth. But as far as the 1 year old you have to start ignoring him when he wakes up at night if you continue to come in his room and refill his bottle or cup he will continue to wak up at night until he is about 2 my pediatrician told me to ignore my 12 month old I did for about 3 days it was so hard for me to hear her cry but by day 4 she slept all night. See babies are smarter than you think and if they know how to get your attention they will try any means necessary. Your son is really just waking up for attention if you feed him well before bed time then that's all it is and also there was research done that showed that teething doesn't really hurt the babies. by the way I was in you shoes I have a six year old a 1 year old and a 2 year old who will be 3 in sept I feel your pain make sure you ask your doctor for an extra day in the hospital you will be able to rest better there after you've given birth. GOOD LUCK

Try putting bonjela on his gums, they may be irretating him. Also give him a nice warm bath just before bed time. It works like a charm. It does sound like though it is his gums, so if you don't have bonjela, try give him a little bit of pamol(baby liquid panadol, whichever you use in your country). This will help baby sooth his irritation. If all fails, get your partner to tire your son out. It is hard to do, but its worth a try. In the afternoon, night don't let your son sleep, not for long anyway. Keep wakinng him up. Play with him, make him run around, get the blocks whatever. He will start getting tired. Then once its bedtime, he won't even be able to keep his little eyelids open and you should get a good nights sleep.

Teething gel and Tylenol will help some. Your doctor can give you better information than any one cause he knows the child. You may even try giving him a teething ring at night. Hopefully it will only last another week. Good Luck

take another look at his diet. Sugar is not just in candy. This sound like a food allergy to me. Take him to the Dr. and have them do some allergy tests. Also DON'T give in. He may just be trying to play you. Let him know that if you don't want to sleep, you still have to stay in your bed and be quiet.

get some toothing medicine or gum rub and give it to the poor kid. Even tylenol. The kid is in pain and there's no reason for it. If you're worried about medicating, call your doctor and ask what should be used. Just get the poor kid some relief, if you think you're in bad shape, imagine being exhausted, no way to talk AND in excrutiating pain.

I had the same problem with my son. I took him to pediatrician and she told me not to let him have daytime nap any more. It was hard for the first few days, but eventually he got used to his new schedule, and we had peaceful and quiet evenings and nights ever since.

Assure him. assure him. Assure him. Becasue suddenly mommy is not there anymore for him completely. Then cut out his nap, bring him to park, tire him out. Consecutively for 3 weeks, let the routine cut in, and see what happens.
