Absolutely not!! Buffets are great as it give people a selection of food and portions to take. We had a buffett for our wedding and we had a carving station, with a couple of servers who served the buffett. Don't worry what other people think. You'll soon realize that no matter what you do, you will upset someone!! you are your own!!

No not at all- but you need to offer a beef, chicken and a pasta.
Then a couple of side dishes and some bread. I am having a buffet as well and the cater I am going to it doesn't matter if it's the highest or lowest end meal- they buffet everything... even lobster! This way a person gets to pick and choose what they want and eat as much as they want. A two hundred pound man is going to eat more then a 90 pound girl! I love buffets and I think they are great! I hate sit down meals because I have stomach problems and lots of foods bother me... so basically I am sitting there with a full plate of food waiting for them to bring the next thing so I can actually eat!!

I rather have been to 2 distinctive weddings interior the previous 2 week (i've got been very busy!!). One became an extremely close chum of mine and the others became my brothers. My chum are very causal and did a buffet type dinner. The nutrition became very yummy and filling. additionally, the venue has the DJ announce that the nutrition became being served yet that somebody might come via and brush aside tables to the buffet. slightly uncomplicated college, even though it avoided every physique from speeding to the line to await 40 minutes. It additionally allowed there to no longer be an empty tray once you eventually have been given up there because of fact the staff might fill up until now brushing off yet another table. in case you pick buffet, i desire to advise doing this besides! the 2d wedding ceremony became a take a seat dinner with an undemanding salad starter and four entree selections (rooster, fish, pink meat, and vegetarian). This became because of fact my brother is slightly snobbish while it consists of nutrition. The nutrition became marvelous, yet that would have been because of fact my mothers cousin became the chef and paid extra interest to this dinner. anyhow, right here day, all we heard have been lawsuits in regards to the impolite provider of no longer giving refills , serving purely 0.5 a table and them giving others nutrition to a distinctive table, or perhaps putting nutrition in front of individuals, just to have it snatched away while they found out it became the two the incorrect table or incorrect nutrition determination. of direction, the buffet type became much less stressful. It allowed human beings to pattern distinctive selections and characteristic seconds. as long because of fact the venue can do it properly, it rather is going to be purely as stylish or much extra so, then a take a seat dinner. Plus, no longer every physique eats pink meat (except you already be responsive to every physique will consume pink meat). i'm hoping this enables and that i'm hoping you %. whichever is proper to your day and that i'm hoping it rather is proper!

Buffets are only tacky if it looks sloppy and thrown together. If you want to save money the best thing you can do is gather some family or friends together who have an eye for putting food together. Get pictures from books of how they are set on the trays, it makes a HUGE difference. Also, my husband and I gathered silver trays that we got cheap at thrift stores, alot of them are very common and it looked like we spent a ton of money on them. We had so many compliments on the outcome of our buffet because it looked professionally done. Good Luck!

No, it isn't tacky at all. I've seen this done a number of ways. The buffet can be in one location, and everyone gets their food and goes back to their seats. Or, the buffett can be set up in different "stations" around the reception site, and people nibble and mingle (these types are generally shorter receptions).

We had one at our wedding 2 months ago. I've only been to one wedding that didn't have a buffet, and that was 16 years ago, every wedding since then has had a buffet. I don't think it's tacky at all. Plus, with a buffet you don't have to make your guests decide ahead of time if they want chicken or beef. With a buffet, they can even have both if they want to.

Not tacky at all...I have seen lots of Wedding like that and it can be very elegant!!!! The way the buffet table is decorated can make all the difference. And, carving station, I think that can be very chic. Have the Butcher/Carver where all white (real professional) and one of those tall white carving hats. It will be really cool! Have a variety of breads around the carving station...stuff like that. It will work!

Absolutely not - where I live, it's the norm. I've been to many weddings, but only two were different. For one, we were served each course, and the other was "family style" with all the dishes on the table. I think people like having choices with the buffet.

I had a brunch buffet at my wedding. It's great because you don't have to force your guests to choose their meal a month in advance. As long as you have a nice selection of food, they'll find something they like. Just be sure to have some nice, simple foods for kids or people with sensitive tastes, and don't forget to have something non-meat in case you have vegetarians at your wedding. I did go to a wedding in Mexico where almost all of the buffet food was Mexican style and spicy; I'm allergic to most Mexican food and dislike spicy food, so I spent the whole meal eating ham and cheese quesadillas from the hors d'oevres table.

Its not tacky at all. It could be if you have some tacky foods. I have been to plenty of weddings that had a buffet and I prefer them over the others.
