its cold in the office, but for some reason my right hand is very cold while my left hand is normal. Does this mean I have bad blood circulation on my right side or something?

your right hand is probably more exposed to the air, because its sitting on the computer mouse. mine does the same thing, i find myself sitting on my left hand without realizing it cause its cold, but the right one clicks the mouse, so it freezes!

Assuming that you have ruled out the above environmental factors there are a couple of things that you can look at.

1. Is their equal hair growth on the backs of the fingers of both hands. Lack of hair growth is one of the first signs of loss of circulation. It is also true of the toes. Now we are talking about the very fine hair that you have to look closely to see.

2. Take one hand and tightly squeeze off the wrist of the other - to the point were circulation is cut off If you have a big wrist or a small hand you may need some help. Then open and close the hand until the fingers and hand turns white - then let go - note the time that it takes the hand to pink back up. Compare one hand with the other.

3. Push down on the fingernails on the hand until they turn white - let go - note how long it takes them to turn pink again - compare finger to finger on each hand.

If you note a major difference in any of the above - time to see the MD. There are several problems that can cause unequal circulation to the hands but they are fairly rare.

first, is your right hand closer to any source of air conditioning? is your right hands position held in a downward position more often? Are you a left handed person? Yes, you could have circulation ptroblems. If it is really pronounced, and especially if your hand is bluish, go to a Doctor.

The pressure from the mousepad or something is cutting off circulation to your hand - this is assuming your right hand is your mousing hand.
