We are to pray without ceasing, at least those of us following Christ are. I try to make every thing I do a prayer to God. I pray while walking anywhere, standing in grocery lines, I pray while doing the dishes. I believe that my job as Mother and wife is as much a Vocation as my job as a nurse. Do you strive to "Pray without ceasing?" Why or why not? Just something to think about.
Peace Be With You,
Debra

I pray for my family or for peace when I am doing Motherly things or wifely things. I pray for believers, this world, my Church, others intentions. There are always so many prayers needed.

Prayer does not take away from medication or nursing procedures. It is in addition to it silly.

It is good to put your mind to something good when you are idle. It is like meditation. I will just make myself aware of my breathing when I am idle since I am a Buddhist.
Some lesser Buddhists pray a lot when they are lost orscared of something as well or they have a purpose for themselves. I do not know what is about other religions.
It is all about keeping your mind pure and simple and avoid bad thoughts and deeds.
Peace to you and your prayer..

If I were God I would certainly get VERY TIRED of people praying about every little thing. What do you think you have a brain for? That's what really turns me off about organized religion. Check your brain at the door and believe EVERYTHING your told. The earth is only 6k years old...right. The Grand Canyon was made in 4 days...uh-huh. Man and dinasours walked the planet at the same time(we would have been all EATEN). Your type has the power(christian world and the muslim world ) and frankly you both do a LOUSY job running things(look at Bush, and I include the muslim loonies too)). You want to see evil? Check out the vice president. I'm tired of our great country being thrown back to the 50s just to repeat the same problems ALL OVER AGAIN. Both sides pull that "God's on our side" BULLSH*T. The ONLY thing wacko religious types have taught me is that organized religion is a cancer of the planet that needs removing.

I don't pray nearly as much as I should. Sometimes I get to caught up in the cares of this life to be honest with you. I like what you wrote and we are to pray without ceasing.

Yes ! Yes ! Yes !
This is the ultimate in terms of action, becoming prayerful, evolving from 'offering' prayers !
When the life itself turns into an offering, action naturally flows forth, and what ever we do becomes a manifestation of our love for the Divine !

But what am I asking for when I pray without ceasing.

For me, I pray when it means something, not only for my soul, but for the glory of God.

Wow! I admire you so much. That is so cool! I pray as often as I can, and I trust God to lead me and to direct my paths as I go about my day.

In the Bible, God says, "My sheep know my voice." And that is true. When you are in tune with God, He talks to you and things go well with you. It is the most beautiful thing.

You pray when you have a crap? What, that your haemorrhoid's won't pop? At leat if they do, in your case there's a nurse handy.

Do me a favour though, if you ever see me in hospital, put your faith in antibiotics and not the lord. I'll feel safer and I'm sure I'll respond better.

You're so right. If only we'd pray more...we'd make a better world. God Bless.
