In blood cancer treatment which is the nice position of ANC when a patients in maintenance chemo therapy to get best result in future. bcos my son hv childhood cance n now he is in maintenance therapy, my doctor told me if he take any oral chemo drugs or othere maintenance chemo drugs and if his blood count not come donw in low it will be denger in future, n he may relaps in future, my kid ANC count become 1200 to 1850 n never come down bellow 1000, is this count is good for get good resualt in future or not or he may relaps in future

Any number between 1000 and 2000 should be fine for the stage of chemo your son is at. Below of 1000 is too low and it might be dangerous for the patient because they could get infections. Above 2000 means that the dose of chemo is not strong enough for that particular person. Your son's ANC number is just perfect, dont worry, he is doing fine...

I am an oncology nurse, your ANC numbers are are good. to calculate the ANC use this formula

(Total # of WBC) x (% of Neutrophils)
