Dogs have anal glands which can get obstructed and filled with secretions. When they don't empty properly, they are painful (a pain inthe butt). Some breeds are more prone to this than others as normally they empty while they have bowel movements. If they are obstructed, as it sounds like they are in your dog, you will need to take him to a vet so that they can be emptied by hand. You may want/need to learn how to do this yourself and save money. Check with your veterinarian as to whether a change in diet (more dry food) will help. In extreme cases these glands can be removed surgically.
Your dog chewing on his butt is his attempt to clear the glands. He is not a pervert; he is trying to help himself as best he can.
Good luck.

Yes, the first couple people that said ANAL SACKS, got you covered. You can actually learn to do it yourself......lololol.....yea, I choose the groomer personally. The dogs anal sacks are full and that stuff is RANK.......have them "expressed"
Love that word, thanks to the previous poster for that one. bashee I think it was. AND GET YOUR DOG TO A PROFESSIONAL NOW. How would you like having a foul goo trapped in say a hemmoroid....and have a big collar wrapped around your head? Laughing, yea....groomer might be able to help, Vet will be more and may tell you to go to a groomer!
GOOD LUCK!

If you are serious and not joking (it is hard to tell on this site), he may have a problem with his ******. So the collar will not work. Take him to the veternarian and get a professional opinion. It sould get worse and then end up being more of an expensive problem.

He probably has a infection. Dogs lick when they are irritated and don't know that they are making it worse. Take to the vet and get a blood test, and then some antibiotics.
