Does your faith and the love of our Creator show in all you do and say? I am a Catholic and I dearly want people to be able to look at me, or listen to me,or even read what I write and say,"Hey she is a Christian." I want the fact that I follow Christ to show. I want Him to shine through me. This is an area that I sadly need to work on.
Peace Be With You,
Debra

If a person follows Christ then it should be Christ that one sees when looking at their lives. This is a Christian belief. I am not saying that others faiths should not shine as well. I can only answer for myself and my faith. Christ is supposed to be evident in all Christians lives..

God Bless you!!

The best way to witness to others is a well-lived life. Subtleties are more effective that "in your face" approaches.

Wear a pretty crucifix.

I use the phrase "I am so blessed" as part of responses to "how are you doing". I don't start proselytizing as that turns people off in most cases.

Keep doing what you are doing, it will come naturally, as He does shine through you!

Interesting "Debra M".

Yes people do notice when one is a christian. They might not show that they notice it, but they do. That is not something one has to work on, it is something the Lord does. Whatever the Lord does, his creation not only notices it - it also adores it.

Last year I attended this new institution. As we continued to attend lectures week in and week out, one of my classmates approached me and said "you are a christian, aren't you?". This guy never heard me speak about Christ or anything related to religion. Now, this was not the first time that such a thing has happen.

So, people do notice. Some people you just board a taxi, sit with them an hour or so - by the time you reach your destination, they have already commented about you being a christian. This is not something one does, it is something the Lord does.

I think that's wonderful that you want your faith to show and it will, just let Christ be your guide. The way you do that is to let good works show in all you do. Be a mentor, a helper, a friend, to everyone you can, or rather and example of Christ. Always ask yourself "What would Jesus do" and do your best to follow in His ways. Eventually, people will look at you and wonder what it is you have in your personality that they want, and will probably begin to mirror your example. That is the best job you can have on this earth, to make disciples of Christ. God calls us to be fishers of men, and that is likely your calling. Pray for God to help you be the best example you can be, and I will pray for you too. God bless you Debra.

Of course not. The same joy that comes from the Divine can show through a Hindu, a Jew, or in your case a Christian. This shouldn't be denominational, for the "Creator" is in all of us, whether we believe in one religion or another. Many people would wonder if you are spiritual, but not many would guess that you are specifically catholic. My sister is catholic, but you would never guess it. There is nothing wrong with wanting to spread that joy you receive from God, but only when you cross the line of freedom for others do you commit a grave sin. Just think of the Inquisition. My advice for sharing the love of God with others is through, as I said, non-denominational ways. That way no one is offended. Granted, some people would wonder at your motives, such as non-christians. Others are more "enlightened" to such things, like I am, but I would not want you to explain yourself or your religion. I would simply be happy with knowing that you and I share the same love for our respective dieties. I hope this helps you understand where some hate and love can come from.

I'm sure your faith shows in all you do ;-). You know what really helps? reading the Bible every day, a psalm, a chapter from the NT, or from the Proverbs. Try to remember some verses and put them into practice. The Bible is full of precious advice about how to live your life with God. I pinned a few verses on my doors and it helps but i still have to work a lot on this, i lose my temper too often ;-)
God Bless

That is very fine. But why should you want a recognition from others about the fact that you are a christian? Is your faith only for others to see and appreciate? When there is an element of exhibitionism in our religious practise, is that sincere?

I am of the view that religion is wonderful as along as we feel that it is wonderful for us and through us for others.

When you show the simple fruits of the spirit as written in Galatians, and your heart shows forgiveness, and you show patience, love meekness and all those things God will show through you.But keep in mind you can't nor will ever be perfect. So don't try to be,but let God use you as a wittiness, and your Christianity will shine in everything you do..

I'm not sure its a good thing that people who do not know you should know what your faith is. I mean if they get to know you and understand you are christian then thats fine, but if you mean you want people walking down the street to see it then that indicates to me that you are almost forcing them to see your beliefs.

No. Most people just assume that I'm a Christian because almost everyone in my country is, but I'm actually an atheist. Not even all people who know me know that.
