I can barely stand to kiss my new "friend" because of his breath. I can't bring myself to say anything to him so I was thinking of leaving this note along with mouthwash, a tongue scraper, a new toothbrush and maybe some floss. Here is the note:

I’ve tried subtle hints but they didn’t work and there is no nice way to say this so I’m just going to come out with it.
You seriously need to instill some better hygiene habits into your day.
Ultimately you need to see a dentist and I know you know that but in the mean time please do your best to use these products. A tongue scraper can do wonders for the breath (hint hint). Enjoyment of future kisses depends on it. If nothing else please try of respect for me.

Would you be offended by this? If so, what would you add or change?

To keep getting kissed, I'll scrape whatever you want.

I would have been offended by it....

I had a 'friend' who suffered from bad breath. It was a medical condition not poor hygiene problems. I hate onions and he loved them..i would tell him he had to brush the onion breath before coming after me... it got to the point it was a game...he would chase me around the house trying to kiss me but I would not give in..... try having mints on hand and just casually ask him "hey, want one" and give him one....then kiss the crap out of him and make his toes curl... he'll like that!

It's all about positive reinforcement....

goshhhhhhh that's sooooo forkinnnnn rude! lmao I would think he/she would be offended by it, yes. Maybe just bring it into a conversation and make up a friend of yours having a similar situation. Offer sticks of gum but remember this..........it could be lots of tooth decay goin on in there so would you really wanna kiss him/her anyway? I don't think it's a good idea to write a note like that to the person.

It would be a lot less rude to just tell him.
If I got a "note" I would be pissed. A strong basis of ANY type of relationship is communication.
If you are close enough to be kissing then just tell him. Sure he'll be a little embarrassed but if your a good kisser he'll do what is needed to fix the problem.

I would be offended if my bf did that to me, but I'd also be grateful. I think you should put a lot of thought into how you tell him and how he will react.

It'll probably hurt his feelings and he'll be embarrassed. But maybe ultimately he'll be thankful that someone pointed it out.

It seems a bit long to me, but its fine and obviously very necessary!
Also add that he may not be drinking enough water, that can really add to his problem. Good luck with the future snogging!

Unless you are 12 years old, leaving notes is so immature I can't imagine anything more offensive.

Please have the "guts" to speak directly to your friend about this issue.

If not changing meant losing you, I'd change. If he refuses to change, dump him - you can't be with someone who makes you sick.

If he is sensitive or insecure, he might be offended. If he is not, then he may appreciate your honesty. Hope for the latter!
