so you can tell if someone is in the toilet, without bending over to see

So that people can see that it's occupied. Or so you can stomp on their nose should they dare to peek through. But most toilet doors actually go all the way.

So you can peek under the door and see feet -- that tells you whether the stall is vacant or occupied. LOL

well number 1 kids lock themselves in sometimes and cant unlock doors for safety is one another is for vetilation and another to see if is has feet hanging for occupancy

it would not go all the way to the bottom neither does it go all the way up to the top...ventilation...just imagine how smelly it is to have it tight closed.

The other reason is we will know someone is in there. can see your feet.
