When others critize you or your fellow Christians/ Muslims/ Hindus etc. for not living up to the moral standards preached by your religion?

Or do you explain/ debate/ fight?

yes, but for yourself only. if we are truly into our religion, then we should try to live up to it. otherwise i would doubt your sincererity and devotion to it and that it is just a badge you wear on your sleeve.

the best way is to discuss what the person - who critises the religion - with your own group of fellow persons in closed or half closed room.

after the discussion, then find other groups of other religion fellow persons and discuss the topic about the pre-discussion comments and analysis and the new discussion also in closed or half closed room.

only then can a possible reason be found out if heaven permits.

Honestly, I should live by those moral values. But should I fail to live up to them, I haven't wronged any man - since no man set them up in the first place. But if I do err concerning the set standards, I should ask for forgiveness as soon as it comes to my conviction. To the best of my ability, yes I do ask for forgiveness.

I usually apologize. But I also explain that being Christian does not make me perfect by default. I can do wrong just as easily as anyone. I also say that I am most at fault because I should know better.

Who are you apologizing to? A person who criticizes you or your God? That is lame!! Why do you feel the need to stand up to your own thoughts/feelings and ways of expressing your own spirituality because of something someone else says to you?

I step to their side and look at the real problem together, which is usually something quite revealing about them.
Causes interesting reactions.

I gotta say I don't do any of it.I'd rather stick to my own religion than to go through this!

If they are correct in their criticism, yes I change my ways
If they are just throwing cheap shots I ignore them.
